In the personal and private writings of Harry S. Truman, he says, "I don't think there's ever been a president who really did damage because he wanted damage to be done. I don't think any of them willfully and maliciously tried to get the country in trouble..." Looking back over the last eight years we can see what Harry could not have believed. Starting with Enron, the theft by manipulation of billions from California's utility payers, this administration has willfully and maliciously done just that and more. After the utter fiasco of 9/11, when the finest air defense system in the world stood down just long enough for the Vice-President to have to confirm the order to stand down in an emergency of unprecedented proportions, the "Patriot Act", a one-foot thick stack of legal documents that abolished most of the Bill of Rights appeared overnight. No one assembles a foot-high stack of documents without preparation and, dare I say it, premeditation. Then, like a forties newsreel, we have Colin Powell and G.W. Bush telling lies to Congress and the United Nations about non-existent weapons of mass destruction in order to justify the invasion of a sovereign country, Iraq. Even though Saddam had offered to leave the country and open up his country to the entire US Army coming in to verify that there were no such weapons. But Bush refused Saddam's offer, preferring invasion that eventually cost the lives of over four thousand American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens, mostly women and children.
It does not take a psychologist to predict the effect of a bully. What a bully inspires is not cooperation. A bully cannot enlist the aid of allies in the fight against terrorists. A bully predictably elicits more opposition than help. But that's where BushCo makes and has always made their fortune, back to the US Civil War, when they sold arms to both sides, that's where their money has been, in the blood of their customers. The Bush family sold arms to both sides in WWI, too. The Bush family financed the rise of Hitler, and sold him arms and war materiel after the outbreak of war with the US. Conflict, catastrophe, collapse and death and destruction have always been their meat and potatoes.
Then we have the matter of nuclear proliferation. Cheney and Rumsfeld actually sold Iran nuclear technology during the Reagan administration. Then, when Iran began using the nuke tech to enrich uranium, Bush objected and accused Iran of building a bomb even though experts had studied the Iranian program and saw no evidence of an ongoing weapons program. But even so, Iran sent the Swiss Ambassador to Washington (since Bush was not then speaking to the Iranians). The ambassador carried an offer by the Iranians to suspend the enrichment in exchange for an agreement by the US not to attack Iran. Bush refused the offer and censured the Swiss Ambassador who brought the offer.
Clinton had negotiated a deal with North Korea that exchanged coal deliveries and food for the cessation of North Korea's nuclear weapons program. Bush canceled the arrangement-- until North Korea had developed, built and ignited a nuclear weapon-- then he had Rice resume Clinton's deal, leaving North Korea with newly developed nukes.
Skipping ahead, we see the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue cutting various budget items to help pay for his "war" in Iraq. Among these cuts are veterans' health care, school lunches, nutrition programs for childbearing women, and the levee maintenance budget for the Army Corps of Engineers to protect New Orleans.
The Congressional budget office has estimated the cost of the Iraq "war" at three trillion dollars. During that occupation, Bush shipped into Iraq truckloads of pallets stacked with bundles of hundred-dollar bills. Billions were handed out, but no one seems to know who got those billions. Meanwhile, Bush had privatized Army food, laundry, fuel deliveries and even diplomatic security. The bill for these services was into the billions. It cost three hundred dollars to wash a bag of dirty clothes.
Last year Vice-President Cheney gave the order to release water in the Klamath River to agriculture, killing eighty thousand adult salmon, returning upstream to spawn. Recently the Supreme Court cut four and a half billion from the five billion dollar fine Exxon was levied for the Valdez disaster. Exxon had been appealing the fine since 1989. The Supremes also allowed the US Navy to continue sonar exercises that are killing mammals like whales and dolphins. During his last sixty days, Bush is lifting restraints on coal pollution, allowing more mercury into the air. Bush also feels it necessary to undermine the endangered species act, reasoning that if allowed to go extinct, those animals cannot interfere with the continued operations of mining and oil and gas drilling. Bush has done all he can to secure the oil monopoly currently enjoyed by his cronies. In the process, he has reinforced alliances with the Saudis, a military dictatorship that publishes school textbooks naming the US as its sworn enemy. Even when gas prices went up to over four dollars a gallon, Bush made no effort to stop the flow of our money into the coffers of our enemies.
Bush has violated treaties, "the supreme law of the land", notably the Geneva Conventions, the nuclear arms limitations and the ICBM treaty. Bush has violated the Nuremburg agreements under which Nazis were tried after WWII. Bush has violated US Code, Title 18, the criminal code. Bush has even broken the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the fundamental law of US military honor.
IN all these acts the motive cannot be said to have been constructive. In no case was the result constructive. They kept saying, 'Gee, we messed up'. In New Orleans, in Iraq, in North Korea, in Iran, in Veterans' healthcare, in childrens' healthcare, in school lunches, in nutrition for mothers-to-be, 'Gee, we messed up.' In limiting the Clean Air and Water laws passed by the Nixon administration. In allowing coal companies to dump mountaintops into riverbeds. They want us to believe they accidently spent the US into an unregulated depression, too. 'Gee, we messed up.'
But in absolute fact, none of this was in error. They meant for New Orleans to die, for four thousand GI's to die for oil, for our children and young mothers to go without food, for our investors to lose their life savings and for our environment to lose life itself. At the very beginning they said they wanted to drown government in the bathtub. What they left out was then they could buy its corpse and sell its organs to their friends. That's what is meant by 'malice aforethought'.
In international law, the supreme crime is invasive war. In US Code, beside treason, the supreme crime is first degree, premeditated murder. By abolishing most of the Bill of Rights, violating the laws and treaties, betraying the security of the country by ordering air defense to stand down, allowing a budget cut to sentence thousands of New Orleans citizens to death, by using the lunch money of our children for war, by leaving our Veterans homeless in the streets, by filling our air and water with poisons, by allowing imports of poison into our food and drug systems, by refusing to negotiate lower drug prices, by privatizing everything they could including our water, by distorting science to accomodate their religious barbarisms, and by lying about it all to the American People, the Bush Administration has committed attempted murder of the country that gave them birth.
And now, during an unprecedented economic disaster, we have the nail in the coffin. As Nobel prize-winning economist Krugman of the NYTimes has said, 'Now Bush can do more damage by doing nothing.' While Rome is burning, Bush is fiddling with weakening environmental protections and increasing coal profits. The past eight years have been a demonstration of attempted first-degree murder of the United States of America.

If Bush stays in
No one will come to the aid of US citizens behind a new Iron Curtain if Bush refuses to step down. The rest of the world will blame us for most of us having been blind, arrogant, and lazy. Jan. 20 can’t come fast enough. by Steven G. Erickson (8 articles, 0 quicklinks, 57 diaries, 218 comments [3 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 9:33:09 AM

Reply: If Bush stays in...
It will be the biggest sit-down strike in history. 300 million people will stop everything that moves, and Bush knows it. No force can impose order on us. The American People have to want order. We all drive between the lines because we can see the benefit of sharing an orderly road. Nobody's out there making us drive between the lines, and nobody could. One person could disrupt traffic for millions, but nobody does it, because we, the people, are in charge here. We don't have to say anything about it. No brag, just fact. by martinweiss (41 articles, 6 quicklinks, 13 diaries, 503 comments [3 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 10:37:47 AM

Reply: If Bush Stays In? - Not
The possibility of Bush & Co. staying on after January 20 is slim to none. Bush already realizes that he's nothing more than a lame duck, and his current disinterest in his job reinforces it. The election of Barack Obama (equal to Bill Clinton's in 1992) has been a total rejection of the Bush/Cheney policies; thus, inhibiting any attempt by the Bushites to stay on after January 20, and sweeping the new Administration into power. This election has shown that the vast majority of the US electorate has awakened, and will not tolerate any interference in the process. And, don't forget the Supreme Court. Not even Bush's two choices who survived the confirmation process would back that treasonous act. by eileen kuch (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 151 comments [14 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 3:20:33 PM

I know it's hard for people to understand ...
... but it goes deeper than just Bush. Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Obama all of them are simply upper-mid managers for a much more sinister cabal of behind the scenes cretins. Yes, we should indeed indict and convict them, but by virtue of being able to see the results of their actions, one has to think that there are far more evil entities working here, and in fact we're dealing with people that think themselves agents of Lucifer himself. For no one can deal in the massive amount of death, destruction and pain, and seemingly enjoy in promoting it, other than a Satanist. This premise isn't so far fetched if one looks into workings of groups like Bohemia Grove, Free Masons, or Illuminati. All of the members of these behind the scenes influential groups are deeply invested in the occult, numerology, Astrology, a pagan rituals. And it is a historical fact that when the powerful are allowed to remain in position long enough they all go mad after a time and think themselves Gods of a darker order. I would go further than Bush & Co. - I would indict our whole corrupted system and take down those secret societies of demented elites that from behind the scenes work as agents of Lucifer himself. by Mr M (8 articles, 0 quicklinks, 66 diaries, 2845 comments [654 recommended, 27 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 10:36:16 AM

Reply: forces at work nothing but ordinary
I feel it obligatory to respond here. My conclusion is that Lucifer and Satan are monsters contrived to scare children and the ignorant. Like John Lennon said, "Imagine there's no Heaven..." The evil we see, as I believe Hannah Arendt said, is merely Banal. Nothing more than short-sighted human nature, eager to retain the status of vested interests as humanity leaves them inexorably in the past. The reason I must disagree with your emphasis on secret societies is that we must deal with reality in order to move on, move ahead. All the Masons, Bilderbergs, tri-Partite Societies, together cannot challenge reality. Six billion reasoning, compassionate, sentient beings will not be denied. It is time to leave the paradigm of war behind. We have become only recently conscious of our effect on our planet, yet even so, we have made great strides toward our mutual responsibility of stewardship. Ideas like Satan have no place in the 21st Century. We are moving as we speak beyond Earth orbit, and beyond the visions of those who wrote our religious documents, hoping to lead us in righteousness. A jealous God is an artifact of an insecure society. We humans must stand up and take responsibility for our lives and our destiny to earn the respect of any Great Spirit we hope watches over us. by martinweiss (41 articles, 6 quicklinks, 13 diaries, 503 comments [3 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 11:23:17 AM

Reply: Didn't say Lucifer or Satan was real ...

Well said
I agree with the writer but I am more interested in "getting the hell out of this hole" than in seeing Bush and Cheney "against the wall"----although that thought is pleasant. First things first for me----get us all help and then Bush/Cheney. by virginius "gin" arnold (18 articles, 7 quicklinks, 47 diaries, 516 comments [22 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 11:27:38 AM

The Premeditated Genocide of humanity
The mass destruction of the human race using nuclear weapons was a done deal way back in 1946. Luckily for us, our newly minted nuclear war fighting elite have had several set backs in their repeated attempts to coordinate a massive surprise nuclear attack upon us. It is long since time that we "Take them" and place them into institutions that will provide long term care for them in a humane fashion. This for sure we can accomplish; after all; we are the Living Dead. by Patrick (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 519 comments [22 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 2:04:50 PM

Sad but true
I have felt like a voice in the wilderness for years talking about this Bush crime family and those who came before him. His grampa was in cahoots with Hitler and this generation has been doing business with Bin ladin and his family for a long time. Shrub was photographed with some of the middle east oilmen looking very cozy and holding hands with one of them. There is no doubt in my mind that they have all been working to destroy the middle class in this country and forming an elite group to rule the world just for the rich and powerful. The Bilderberg group is one example of this action. One of the things that has made it so easy to do this is the dumbing down of the people with the MSM. There is no real news. There is only gossip about the airheads in our society. They figured it out that if you fill people's heads with gossip, they will not think about the real issues. Otherwise, how could anyone have been enchanted with the Wicked Witch of the North and Grampa Diapers? I am slightly encouraged by the election but I was really committed to Dennis Kucinich who is truly the only honest man in Congress. Only he proposed an end to the war, NAFTA, and the WTO. HE voted against the war every time and proposed a single payer health care plan which would protect eveyone. I still have hope that Obama will make a difference in our lives. It's too late for some of us. The banks have been allowed to rape us all with their interest rates raised with impunity and adding unreasonable fees that are killing us all. It has been my passion to spend at least one or two hours a day emailing the truth and forwarding the truth that has come to light on the internet. And I encourage my friends to do the same. I hope that the power of the internet will bring the truth to more people. I read on this site that the author of a book states that he will charge Bush and Cheney with murder after they leave office. I hope he carries out that statement. Maybe if the truth is made public and more people are aware of it, that there might be a chance to stop it. by Caronome (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 1 diaries, 327 comments [15 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Nov 24, 2008 at 2:15:42 PM
