The Government really believes we are stupid!       And we let them think it!

I am just now reading and watching the news, as the President and McCain both call for a lifting of the ban on off-shore oil drilling around the US. Why do we keep listening to and falling for this hypocrisy? And how can these people be so ridiculously uninformed?

From all that I can find to read, the oil companies already have leases on land with oil reserves that they have decided not to drill on, yet. They don't need to go offshore for more drilling opportunities. Following that is the fact that the existing refineries are at capacity and cannot produce any more gas or diesel right now, anyway. Then there are the numerous reports that the available tanks for oil storage are already full to capacity and there is no place to put more crude, even if we could pump it or bring it in from the Saudis. The last ingredient in this misinformation stew is that any new oil will be years away from being refined and made available as fuel to the public anyway.

In short, all of this ridiculous talk about opening up off shore sites or drilling in the ANWAR will do NOTHING to reduce the cost of gasoline and all of this talk by our assorted office holders basically means nothing!

From the president on down, "they" really think we are gullible and stupid, and we let them get away with it every day. I don't know about you, but I'm downright insulted!
