The Government Thinks You Are Stupid!

The Government really believes we are stupid!       And we let them think it!

I am just now reading and watching the news, as the President and McCain both call for a lifting of the ban on off-shore oil drilling around the US. Why do we keep listening to and falling for this hypocrisy? And how can these people be so ridiculously uninformed?

From all that I can find to read, the oil companies already have leases on land with oil reserves that they have decided not to drill on, yet. They don't need to go offshore for more drilling opportunities. Following that is the fact that the existing refineries are at capacity and cannot produce any more gas or diesel right now, anyway. Then there are the numerous reports that the available tanks for oil storage are already full to capacity and there is no place to put more crude, even if we could pump it or bring it in from the Saudis. The last ingredient in this misinformation stew is that any new oil will be years away from being refined and made available as fuel to the public anyway.

In short, all of this ridiculous talk about opening up off shore sites or drilling in the ANWAR will do NOTHING to reduce the cost of gasoline and all of this talk by our assorted office holders basically means nothing!

From the president on down, "they" really think we are gullible and stupid, and we let them get away with it every day. I don't know about you, but I'm downright insulted!

The Government Knows!

Our government knows that we are stupid.  They have been consistantly dumbing down our educational system for decades now.   I cannot help but believe this has been intentional.   The worst move they ever made was allowing people to go to private schools at our and the public school systems expense.   That basically gutted our public schools and allowed the rich to have their kids brainwashed by whatever private school they chose.   Religion is nice but is only meant to be a personal thing.   That is why they call it a belief.   Religious groups are just like any other group of people in that as they grow larger they tend to  become power mad and paranoid.   The American people as a whole were intended to "run" America, not one extremist group or another.   My only hope for this country is that We, the people, will start voting out almost all incumbents everytime they come up for re-election.  By doing this "We" will begin to take back control of Congress and our government.  The 2 major political parties are basically dead.  Partisan politics has destroyed them and this country and has been used by Bush and other despots like him to carryout their treacherous destruction of this once great nation.

Hotpoints!

I did not mean to aim this at you Ivan.  Education, or lack thereof, is one of my hotpoints.  You have written an excellant article.  My biggest "peeve" is that education is the answer to reducing bigotry, racism, wars, poverty, stupidity(duh!), and most everything else that hangs around mankinds neck.  The saying "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" while being true also points out that we can never get enough knowledge and no knowledge is a sure killer.  Sorry for the misleading rant!  Have yourself a good one, my friend!

Just a plain working person that is sick of the lies and our ego driven complacency about those lies.

They are 100% correct

Just remember that "GOD" cast us out of the garden for eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge. The government just has the same philosophy.
