Oligarchy by coffeepartyusa.com
Ominous signs of imminent danger are emerging in this nation though many Americans are not yet aware of what they portend. There is a plan in motion by a deadly right wing consortium, the objective of which is simply this: to destroy this American democracy and replace it with an oligarchy, a form of government in which political power rests with a dominant segment of society; the wealthy, corporations, the military and individuals with great political influence. Why does this movement want to bring down our democracy? Because democracy stands in the way of its nefarious objectives and, so, it must go.
This very clever, deceitful movement to establish an oligarchy has been in process for several decades and of late has gained tremendous momentum. Part of the plan is to create massive turmoil within our nation and our government; that is clearly illustrated by the crazed, irrational debates going on in Washington relative to the nation's debt ceiling. Those behind this plan know that the more turmoil, dissent and divisiveness that they can create in our government and this society the more chances for success that they will have.
Who exactly are the charter members of this powerful consortium? This is a very powerful group of individuals and organizations that want to see our current government of the people, by the people and for the people replaced by government of oligarchy led by Corporate America. It has become evident that these plotters against our democracy will not rest until they achieve their insidious, demented objectives.
These are the elements that comprise this threat to our democracy:
Corporate America
The U.S. Supreme Court/Republican Element
The U.S. Congress/Republican Obstructionists
Republican governors/Legislatures
National media; Fox News, Right Wing Radio and TV Hosts
This movement was born in the 1980's during the presidency of Ronald Reagan and has continued to grow in the decades since. The foundation of this group, let's call it the bedrock, is Corporate America. All the other entities revolve around it and do whatever is necessary to achieve the master plan.
These five entities operate independently but carefully coordinate their tactics and strategies. Remember when the Supreme Court ignored states' rights and appointed George W. Bush as president in the election of 2000? Thereafter, in 2005, Bush strengthened Republican control of that court by appointing Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito. That court, in 2010, misinterpreted U.S. law and the Constitution when, in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, it ruled that the government may not ban political spending by corporations in candidate elections. That, of course, opened the floodgates for unlimited spending by massive corporations to fund GOP campaigns, a disastrous development for this nation's electoral process.
The corporate-controlled Republicans in the Senate stall, delay, obstruct, filibuster and use every dirty trick in the book to make sure the Democrats and the president get nothing of substance done. That means the business of America and our problems go unattended. These devious politicians do what their corporate masters dictate and use their deceitful tactics to block any attempts to raise taxes or create regulations that they believe will adversely affect corporations.
At the same time Republican governors, also controlled lackeys of Corporate America, are doing everything they can to destroy union bargaining rights in their states and give tax breaks to corporations, while they lay off teachers, police and firefighters to balance their budgets. They are developing various methods of voter suppression to limit the turnout on elections; strategies that will primarily harm Democratic voters.
And in this grand scheme the right wing national media use their unfair and unbalanced reporting of the news to support and promote the activities of Corporate America, together with Republican issues and initiatives in Congress and in state governments. They are the primary facilitators of the right wing movement, the mouthpiece that distributes this toxic propaganda into our society. They are dominating mass communications and have been very effective in spreading the right wing agenda.
As related to these deficit discussions, poll after poll indicates that the American people, two thirds or more, do not want entitlements to be eliminated or drastically changed. They want millionaires to contribute their fair share in taxes; they want the needless wars to be ended now, not in 2014 or beyond. But is anyone in Washington, including President Obama, listening? To those in power in Washington, what the people think or want has become entirely irrelevant. This is a clear and grave indication of how the steady evolvement of this oligarchy and the dismantling of our democracy are taking place.
