The Darkened Career of Chief Scientist 'climate change denier'...Dr. Willie Soon.

By Robert J Dorn.

[[Dr. Soon ]]

I list below from just several easily searched online articles showing his latest 'work', recently discovered and 'outed' by Greenpeace.

"He has accepted more than $1.2 million in money from the fossil-fuel industry over the last decade while failing to disclose that conflict of interest in most of his scientific papers. At least 11 papers he has published since 2008 omitted such a disclosure, and in at least eight of those cases, he appears to have violated ethical guidelines of the journals that published his work." - New York Times, Feb 21, 2015.

Many have called upon him to be dismissed from Harvard, which, so far, has said they will deal with this 'internally'. Such lack of Ethics by a so called 'climate scientist ' (technically he is , physicist at the Solar, Stellar, and Planetary Sciences Division of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and, since 1992 ) and not too much known or done about it, until now when many Maintstream and just about all 'alternative' media sources (Covered on 'Democracy Now', Feb 23, 2015)

As the Times article states, he has been one of the top 'go to' guys, if you wanted a bonafied 'scientist' to speak (and no wonder the amount of money he has taken from big oil), "For years, politicians wanting to block legislation on climate change have bolstered their arguments by pointing to the work of a handful of scientists who claim that greenhouse gases pose little risk to humanity.

One of the names they invoke most often is Wei-Hock Soon, known as Willie, a scientist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics who claims that variations in the sun's energy can largely explain recent global warming. "

Some Background:

"Willie Wei-Hock Soon is a physicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Since 1992, Dr. Soon has been an astronomer at the Mount Wilson Observatory. Soon is also a receiving editor with the journal New Astronomy. [2]

Soon is a prominent climate change skeptic who has received much of his research funding from the oil and gas industry."

According to David Suzuki:

"U.S. oil and coal companies, including ExxonMobil, the American Petroleum Institute, Koch Industries, and the world's largest coal-burning utility, Southern Company, have contributed more than $1 million over the past decade to his research. According to Greenpeace, every grant Dr. Soon has received since 2002 has been from oil or coal interests." - http://www.desmogblog.com/willie-soon.
