The Cosmic Story: Capricorn Full Moon 2014
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your Self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you"
Love after Love -- Derek Walcott
(Sea Grapes)
At this month's Capricorn Full Moon, instead of looking at yourself in the mirror of our patriarchal society, look in the shining mirror of your soul. The Cancer Sun says, 'Love yourself!' Love your emotional body so it can heal from the wounds of patriarchy's expectations of who you should be.
This Capricorn Full Moon will shine its light on Cancer's oceans, illuminating the depths of who we really are. It's time to create a society that values our uniqueness rather than our rugged individualism, that nurtures our souls rather than a small group's pocketbooks and that believes in the power of transformative love rather than the power of power.
This Full Moon occurs on both Saturn and Pluto's nodes. Many of us are familiar with the nodal axis of the Moon (where eclipses occur), but in fact planets have a nodal axis too! The nodal axis is comprised of two intersecting points where the planet in question crosses the ecliptic. Astrologically, these two points are important in describing developmental issues pertaining to the planet's themes.
Saturn north node: from 16 Cancer to 29 Cancer
Pluto north node: from 18 Cancer to 21Cancer
Pluto south node: from 17 Capricorn to 21 Capricorn
On a personal level, these nodes significantly influence us, depending on where they fall in our natal charts by house and sign, and even more so if a planet in the chart conjuncts one of them. Through these planetary node placements, we can identify evolutionary lessons that affect us collectively.
We need to harmonize the extremes of all the planets' south and the north nodes. The south node represents what is more familiar, the north node what needs to be learned, and the ultimate challenge is to balance both sides. Most of us know where our natal lunar nodes are and what we have to leave behind as we forge new paths to our north node. With the outer planets, we'll experience it more fully on a collective level.
