What went wrong? Why is the US Government not successful in Iraq? This subject has been debated before and will be debated in the future. Who are responsible for the failed policies in Iraq and Afghanistan? The US Government is saying the Iraq missions are successful. But not one single problem is solved in Iraq. Yes the military as usual is doing a very good job, but the fundamental problems of Iraq still persist. The US Government does not have any political solutions for Iraq.

The people in the regions are confused with the US Government missions here. They say that the US is an imperialist coming here only to take our wealth. They are here to fight the terrorist organizations. They are here to liberate us from dictators. They do not know why they are here.

The Iraqi oppositions during Saddam Hussein were hopeless. They did not have any hope that Iraq would ever be free of the Bai’th party of the Saddam family. They begged the US Government and other powers around the world to liberate Iraq for them. The US Government answered them without thinking through the problems. They went to war in Iraq without any plan. They appointed retired Generals to run Iraq for a few weeks and suddenly he was replaced by a retired state department official. They changed the Iraq Ggvernments without any progress in the war. Iraq is destroyed and it is in a state of civil war without any hope for the future. There are many mafia organizations with their own military powers ready to go back to the civil wars, and create more terrorists for the region and the world as soon as US forces leave Iraq.

The Iraqis are not one nation.  Why do US policy makers insist on keeping Iraq as one nation? The regional powers around Iraq have diverse interests; and those powers did influence decision makers in the US.  They are the powers with plenty of money to hire lobbyists for Washington D.C.  Those lobbyists are capable of changing US policy.  The Iraqi mafia organizations have learned the tricks. You can see the Barzani mafia, Talabani mafia, Shi’a mafia, Sunni mafia and even the Iranian Government mafia have lobbyists on the payroll, or they are capable of hiring one if they wish.

Congress is not capable of making decisions in favor of US interests any more. They are influenced by the Middle Eastern Government directly or through lobbyists. There are many US officials with interests in the regions.  When they are in power, they help those countries instead of helping the US interests.  The countries with influence in the USA are known to media and public, too.

Those elected in the US are supposed to serve the interest of the USA people only. But they are more loyal to their own interest than the interest of the people they are supposed to serve.

The new administration should look at Iraq and realize that Iraq is not fixable now. They need to get out for time being because Iraqis do not want to live with each other. Shi’a’s mafia wants to be with Iran and run Iraq alone. Sunni mafia wants to be with the Saudi Arabia and run Iraq alone. A Kurdish mafia leader wants to make more money and they are in need of the USA protections from other Iraqi mafias, Iran and Turkey.
