Support Colorado Firefighters

By       (Page 1 of 1 pages)   1 comment

I'm writing to urge you to vote NO on Amendment 54.

Amendment 54 - like Amendments 47 and 49 - is a deceptive ballot measure that will silence Colorado's firefighters, police officers, teachers, and nurses.

Worse yet, it will silence us while leaving loopholes that will allow narrow special interests to have their say in the political process. It's not right and it's not fair.

When firefighters are on the job, we're looking out for your safety and the safety of each other. Firefighters need to be able to speak out on issues that are critical to public safety and make recommendations to our elected officials. If there is new equipment available that will give us the ability to spend an extra 15 minutes inside a burning structure, we need to be able to advocate for it - for our safety and yours.

But under Amendment 54, Colorado's firefighters will be silenced. It's a deceptive amendment that will strip First Amendment rights from our firefighters, teachers, and countless other Coloradans - and their families.

I believe that we can save lives, of both firefighters and private citizens, by speaking out on issues related to firefighting.

So, please, don't silence our voices. Vote NO on Amendment 54. And click here to spread the word:
