Socialism: It’s What’s For Dinner

Recently the neo-con political attack dogs are using the word “Socialism” as a weapon again… Presumably in the hope that just the loaded term itself will end debate as it has successfully done in the past. The difference now is that their whole world view, their entire political philosophy, has been utterly discredited…. And this latest feeble, pathetic attempt at negative labeling only underscores the moral bankruptcy of their positions. The acrid smell of fear and desperation can now be detected under the expensive cologne.

Bailing-out failed banks and Wall Street trading houses, whose ridiculous loan scandals and obsessive trading in ultra-risky derivatives got them into trouble in the first place (acting for all the world like out-of-control degenerate gamblers); shows us that those who use the word “socialism” like a loaded pistol aimed with undisguised contempt and hatred are really saying this: If it benefits anyone else, it’s “Socialism”. If it benefits ME and my “blood-red” group of neo-cons, then it is “American”. Well… They may not see the dichotomy of this absurd position while so closely cloaked in the flag; but the rest of us do. I would tend to ignore their poisonous whining… Except we have ignored it for too long, and it’s time these folks squarely faced the destruction of their world-view. I get no pleasure from kicking these misguided folks when they are down; but perhaps it’s time some people learned that indiscriminately hurling loaded derogatory terms at large sections of the population can later lead to a serious case of indigestion.

In the last 7 years their positions have all been proved to be wrong; and their lists of failures goes on and on depressingly: The economy, the loss of nearly our entire manufacturing base, the wars of aggression built on lies, the utter failures of diplomacy, the continual ignoring of the Rule of Law, the great loss of Liberties and the undermining of the Constitution… These people have followed their beloved charlatans like mindless sheep, letting avarice and fear win over logic and moral conscience, and it has now become painfully clear that the only aim of their so-called “leaders” was to sheer us all of as much money and liberty as they could possibly get away with.  Now the time of reckoning is upon them…Yet many still desperately cling to these discredited ideals and lash out against their perceived “enemies”; much as a drowning man will claw another down with him in panic.

“Conservative radio talk show hosts”, propagandist cheerleaders of the failed “movement”; will continue to lie, foment hatred, and try every dirty trick conceivable to keep their flocks from defecting. But it is hopeless. The end of the neo-con movement is here: The mainstream media will soon be slowly freed from its fascist-like corporate control (if only out of cowing self-interest), and the dawning light of reason will begin to peep back into our government… Perhaps only by inches at a time; but at least the slide into the nether reaches of futility will finally have a chance to stop and reverse direction.

So those who are now using the “Socialist” card as the ultimate trump will soon find they have overplayed their hand, and their corporate partners have no tricks to add to the score. This is called “Losing”… And soon the poorly disguised contempt and hatred for the poor and  working poor that they exhibit with such pride will no longer be in vogue… Because too many us will have joined those ranks, including many of the former “believers”... Sold down the river to poverty precisely because of those failed neo-con policies and ideals that were held so dear.  Then, as things go south, concepts such as “socialized medicine” or “subsidized housing” won’t sound so “un-American” anymore (when the alternative is dying on the street); while “socialized $500,000 home mortgages” for 4-bathroom homes that were stupidly bought for $200,000 above actual value… The money being gleefully loaned to those with no business ever even asking for it… Will be seen as absurdly undeserved and surrealistic when compared to the greater poverty that is growing within this nation.

So I would say, without rankor, to those folks who wrongly like to call us “Socialists” (…Just because we are sick and tired of seeing government largess only go to millionaires and multi-Billion dollar corporations who ship jobs off-shore, yet demand everything their corrupting lobbyists can possibly weasel out of a Congress obviously sitting inside their pockets): "Enjoy the meal!" … Eat a nice big slice of “socialism” for me! And know that when you decide to re-join the greater human race and eschew the polarizing hatred and division your cheerleaders have been using to control you… We “socialists”… Really just ordinary Americans with social conscience and the desire for leaving our world better off than when we found it… Will be there to greet you with open arms.
