It's official. House Republicans will stop at nothing in their relentless pursuit to strip workers of their rights.

As President Cohen wrote you last week, instead of allowing airline workers to vote for union representation under democratic election standards, Representatives John Mica (R-Fla.) and Eric Cantor (R-Va.), and Speaker John Boehner, led a charge to shut down the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As of 12:01 AM last Saturday morning, construction projects across the country have been halted, putting thousands of people out of work.

So far, over 2,000 people have sent a letter to their representative urging him or her to set politics aside and put good jobs first. But we must do more. Will you join our effort by sending an email today?

To the anti-democratic, extremist contingent in the House, eliminating thousands of construction and IT jobs is just collateral damage in their crusade to impose standards on union workers that don't apply anywhere else in our democracy.

House Republicans want to subject union elections to rules that would be evidence of a dictatorship if they were applied to a nation. They even want to count non-voters as NO votes -- a standard that would have prevented all members of the House of Representatives from being elected in the first place.

We must defeat this unbridled attack on workers and democratic principles, and with your voice I know we can. Send a message to your Member of Congress now.
