I just finished watching Speaker Boehner talking to a press conference. I found myself asking questions I'd like the people at the press conference to ask that would show where they are really at:

"Speaker Boehner, how can we help you lie to the American public more effectively?"
"Mr. Speaker, of course we will not try to read anything into what happened and simply understand it as what you say it is."

Then, we have our wonderful lesser of two evils president Obama. He's sold us out already, raising the tax offer to people making $400,000 a year AND reducing Social Security with a nifty little scheme. On top of that, Nancy Pelosi has enthusiastically signed on, so the Democrats in the House will also sell out the middle class. Nice work.

I've been saying that we can't depend on the White House or Congress to do what needs to be done to make change happen. The only way change will happen is if WE the people do it-- not unions led by top-down power holders, not by big organizations that end up sucking up to the power-holders in the democratic party-- like Moveon.org.   Occupy and its model offers the best answer. We can take back America from the corporations, but we have to work together, without the need for a patriarchal leader, without handing our power over to single individuals.

It's been done. It is dangerous. There are monied, organized blocks that are waiting to grab opportunity, as the Muslim Brotherhood did in Egypt. But we can't sit and do nothing, or keep depending on the Democratic Party or big parasitic organizations like Moveon.org, which support the corporatist duopoly. We must look to movements like the Occupy Wall Street movement, the Arab Spring, the revolutionaries in Argentina and others to find models for making change happen.

We must put out a vision of the changes we seek-- big vision, shooting high-- socialized medicine, making being a billionaire illegal and impossible, maximum difference between highest and lowest paid worker in a corporation, end to global trade agreements as they now exist, end to corporate welfare, especially for energy corporations, serious gun control laws, free college tuition for all eligible students, cutting back the defense budget by over 50%.  Please add to my list. We need bold, strong visions to shoot for. We must put the visions out there to start making any semblance of them happen.

Rob Kall has spent his adult life as an awakener and empowerer-- first in the field of biofeedback, inventing products, developing software and a music recording label, MuPsych, within the company he founded in 1978-- Futurehealth, and founding, organizing and running 3 conferences: Winter Brain, on Neurofeedback and consciousness, Optimal Functioning and Positive Psychology (a pioneer in the field of Positive Psychology, first presenting workshops on it in 1985) and Storycon Summit Meeting on the Art Science and Application of Story-- each the first of their kind.  Then, when he found the process of raising people's consciousness and empowering them to take more control of their lives  one person at a time was too slow, he founded Opednews.com-- which has been the top search result on Google for the terms liberal news and progressive opinion for several years. Rob began his Bottom-up Radio show, broadcast on WNJC 1360 AM to Metro Philly, also available on iTunes, covering the transition of our culture, business and world from predominantly Top-down (hierarchical, centralized, authoritarian, patriarchal, big)  to bottom-up (egalitarian, local, interdependent, grassroots, archetypal feminine and small.) Recent long-term projects include a book, Bottom-up-- The Connection Revolution, debillionairizing the planet and the Psychopathy Defense and Optimization Project.
