I have heard people say, "I would vote for Bernie Sanders but he can't win because he doesn't have the massive financial support and establishment approval of Hillary Clinton." What does this say about how we have been trained to select our presidents? Today we are engaged in a political revolution. It is a real revolution. It is a revolution against those who tell us for whom to vote. It is a revolution against the mainstream media that give enormous amounts of air time to Donald Trump because he is uncivilized. It is a revolution against the media choice to advertise incivility as a model for American politics. It is even more, a revolution against the Citizens United decision.
Bernie Sanders is a Democratic Socialist. What does that mean? It means that in a Democratic socialist Society, not only the government is democratically controlled, but the Economy as well. The America we live in today is a capitalist economy controlled by the capitalists for the benefit of capitalists...the bottom line.
Citizens United now permits those capitalists to purchase the government, but they can only do that as long as we accept the conditioning that tells us to only vote for the candidate with enormous financial backing and the support of the establishment. As long as we cling to this conditioning, we will continue to live in a world where both the economy and the government are controlled by capital, not by the people.
Bernie Sanders would invest the wealth of our nation in the care and education of our children, our grandchildren, and the environment in which they will live. This is an America for which we can vote because we are still free... free to choose unhampered by conditioning. It is why I will vote for the revolution.
