Deep Love of Forests
With girth of massive majesty
With stature so fair in outline
The trees as well sport living green lace
Sport lungs inverse of mine
As we co-breath the planet's air
In symbiotic chemistry of sky
The blue appears and lifts the clouds
Which feed these trees and I
I marvel at the miracle
How it all works together
Abundant secrets in every crack and cranny
Each intertwined with another
The ant the bird the kangaroo
The wriggling millipeed
All depend upon the trees
Sheltered by their canopies
Countless things that spring from seeds
Myriad manifestations of life
Diversity of form and beauty
Crowd low valleys to mountains' height
Within, my lungs, upside down trees
Breathe deep the icy blue
Exchanging breath with precious plants
Each breath by the other renewed
The green heart-beat, the red heart-beat
Accompanying the song of sky
The heart of the planet is alive and singing
God please do not let it die
