The story line recently is an old one in presidential campaigns – the opponent is waffling, in the present case Obama is moving to the right now that the campaign to gain the nomination is over. One can spend time on wondering whether the attacks are coming from the Conservatives or from the Clinton camp in making a last ditch effort to come away from the convention with the nomination. Whomever is calling the shots, it is working as the corporate media propagandists are playing their part by highlighting the “movement.”

Obama, for his part, continues on his way toward developing as their puppet. They questioned his patriotism because he did not wear a flag pin. He now sports a “made in China” flag pin. As a side note, I have yet to see McCain wear one, yet he is portrayed as the “Patriot.” Next, they say Obama hasn't the right to talk about Iraq as he has never been there. He immediately announces plans to travel to Iraq. He comes out wanting to get out of Iraq and AIPAC sends messages that the Jewish votes may go to McCain. Obama is now soft-peddling on an Iraq pull out. Let us not forget the Rev. Wright issue. He bowed in that as well.

The point being made here is not whether he is moving to the center or whether he has been to Iraq or who his preacher happens to be and say. The point is he is becoming another political puppet and our nation at this point in history cannot survive another puppet. We have had 28 years of puppets and have seen our democracy crumble. Another four years and the greatest governmental experiment in history will be rendered lost, if it is not already.

As the two main candidates stand McCain is the better choice if you are wanting the decline to continue as he has proved he will do as he is told. The media portrays him as a Maverick, but he has always fallen in line with the masters. Obama is learning, having voted for every piece of legislation desired by the Power Elite. Yes, he even voted to favor wiretapping and to give the telephone companies immunity!

But the campaigns go on with each giving rhetoric about what they will do about the “war” in Iraq, healthcare, the economy, the price of gasoline, guns, abortion, and the host of other campaign standbys, but neither dare speak about what really needs to take place in order to keep our country in the hands of the people – restoring the Constitution, restoring the process of government thus redistributing the powers and authority of the Three Branches – Legislative, Judicial, and Executive, building up the sagging dollar, stopping the Security and Prosperity Partnership that is scheduled for 2010.

There have been candidates who have attempted to approach those topics but the media propagandists took care of them by not giving them any air time in which to make their message to the voting public. Dennis Kucinich was given less than 5 minutes in the last debate he was allowed in and was even completely passed over on the question about Iraq.

It was a frustrating thing to watch as during those debates, the only “face time” Kucinich was given on the major networks, he received the greatest number of applause. His greatest problem – he was for those things not being discussed. Oh he had a plan for healthcare, but it would not fall into the fascist, corporate profit, mold we are being driven to as he would take 15% of the money allocated to the military to pay for a single payer healtcare plan for every man, woman, and child in the United States. A plan that would cost the taxpayer no additional money. It really would not have cost the military anything either as they “lose” more than that amount that they cannot account for, thus they didn't need it. (At last account there is over $4 Trillion that cannot be accounted for in the Pentagon's books since the present jackals came to office).

The process of government has been broken for a number of years but has been totally decimated in these past 7 years to the point where we are at the mercy of a single person, the president, or more aptly named the dictator. Presently, at the whim of the President, a “national emergency” can be called, thus invoking martial law and total control over the nation by the President.

Our problem is we have no candidate who is wanting to get us back on course toward a democracy as both of the major offerings continue to lead us in the direction of guns, abortion, etc. to keep our minds off of what really needs to take place. If we continue on the same train we will have only what the power elite want us to have and that is more of the same poor, but expensive, healthcare, on-going wars, an education system that doesn't develop leaders but instead puts out failures whose only chance in life is to join the military as most middle class jobs have been lost to the “free trade” agreements, an environment where individuals must be ever so cautious as to what they say and who they gather with for fear of getting on some “list” the government has come up with, our monetary system will include a new currency to combat the Euro, the Security and Prosperity Partnership will be expanded to first include Central and South America, then will join forces with the European Union to form a global government run by the Power Elite.

We're well on the way and there is nobody allowed to take a stand on stopping it. Obama is not moving to the center, he is merely learning to be a puppet. He even wears the flag pin to show he is learning.

We, the people have not been given a “peoples' choice” for many decades. In recent years we had several who have come out advocating change back to a democracy. Howard Dean even tried to tell the people that “we are the power”, but he was portrayed as a “nut case” by the corporate media gerbils. Kucinich is another victim of trying to inform the people. There have been others, Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, to name but two.

Everything is evil.

Man and all his works is evil.  It is even evil to have children.  Forget the moral posturing and keep on paying your taxes.

Income Taxes

Are illegal by the way...never having been approved into law.  Why is it against the law to not abide by something that isn't a law?

Our Choice

Are you people for real?  If a candidate moves more toward the center suddenly he is a puppet?  If a candidate has views different from your own he is evil?

Last time I checked there were over 300 million people in the US, we are the 3rd most populated country on Earth, behind China and India.  Do you really believe a person will get elected President who embraces the most extreme positions and is unwilling to compromise on his positions?  Do you really want a dogmatic individual elected President who feels it is going to be his way or nothing?  Try to turn a huge oil tanker on a dime, I bet you can't.  The ship of state is even bigger than an oil tanker relatively speaking.  You change course gradually, not sharply because of size and competing viewpoints.  All things take time in politics when you are a democracy instead of a dictatorship.  Perhaps that is best, because when rapid changes are embraced they often turn out to be bad ones.

I like Kucinich as much as anyone, but he is too far left to be a great leader.  I like his principles and values, but he is too determined to have others accept him rather than compromise when he needs to compromise to get things done.  I think he is great to have in the House as a voice of reason.  I don't think you want him in the White House as my head of state.  For the same reason, I think Ron Paul is great where he is at, but he would be a mistake to have in the White House representing the exact opposite extreme as Kucinich.

The compromise we carry out every 4 years in selecting the best leader is based on who has the best chance to get things done and take the country in the direction we would like.  It is overly optimistic to believe taking the country in a new direction and getting the country to a new destination are equivalent.  Getting where we need to go is a long, long journey.  Just deciding on the proper direction is a constant battle of wills and interests that is won not by the most radical changes, but by the most well defined and deliberate course.  Be patient.  Elect the leader who will steer the ship of state toward the direction we want.  Everyone wants change yesterday.  That is not how politics has ever really worked, nor how it probably ever will.

WRONG CHOICE

PETER, WHY NOT START WITH A PEOPLES CANDIDATE, WHEN THIS RACE STARTED WE HAD A FEW GOOD PEOPLE CANDIDATES TO PICK FROM BUT THE MASS MEDIA DECEPTION, AND THE POWERS THAT CONTROL THEM AND OUR SO CALLED GOVERNMENT, WEEDED THEM OUT OF THE PICTURE, AND NOW WE ARE GIVEN TWO GLOBAL ELITE PAWNS TO PICK FROM, AND IF WE HAD A PEOPLES CANDIDATE, WHO MIGHT WANT TO MAKE BIG CHANGES BUT HE WOULD HAVE  LIMITED POWER, BUT COULD START THE CHANGES THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT. AND THIS ALSO WILL TAKE TIME. BUT BY HOPING A GLOBAL ELITE PICKED PRESIDENT WILL MAKE THE CHANGES WE THE PEOPLE WANT , IS A FOOLS GAME. I SAY LETS START WITH A PEOPLES PRESIDENT THAT WOULD BE WILLING TO START THE CHANGES NEEDED. AND THIS ALSO WILL TAKE TIME BUT ITS A POSITIVE START. THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT BUILT ON HOPE.

Thanks, RIch

You get the point, as do most people who have been paying attention.  Our nation is at the point where we will never have a President who is for upholding the COnstitution as it was intended.  The mega-corporations and the Power Elite have worked too hard to get us to the point we are now at.

Obama actually hasn't moved as much as the media would have you believe (it is just a part of the waffling gimick that worked so well against Kerry in 2004 and Gore in 2000)  In actuality if anyone has flip-flopped it has been McCain who the media has to continually employ their old game of telling us what he meant to say.  Remember the Reagan years?  One never had to listen to any of his speeches because the media would tell us what he meant to say.

But, Peter is correct when he says the only way one can get elected is to say what the corporate segment wants them to say.  If they don't they get "Kuciniched" and don't get any exposure whatsoever.  Consequently, they do not get the vote because people vote by association, rather than what a person actually stands for.  That is why so many of the blobs get re-elected.  People simply recognize the name when they go to the poll, not knowing that Nancy Pelosi actually obstructs justice by not hearing impeachment hearings on Cheney and Bush, but they will vote for her because they recognize the name.

So, the dilemma we have is how do we educate the people?
