The New York City Prosecutor's Office investigators have been uncovering some unsavory facts about the maid who alleged she was raped by Dominique Strauss-Kahn in May at a Manhattan hotel. She allegedly has ties to drug dealers and has apparently been lying to authorities about them, who also are wary of her rape story. At this point, whether or not she was raped as she alleges or instead had, as Strauss-Kahn alleges, consensual sex with him, she may very well be such a badly tainted witness, period, that Strauss-Kahn may soon go free. Who said NY City Law Enforcement is not on the ball?

New York -- The sexual assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn is on the verge of collapse as investigators have uncovered major holes in the credibility of the housekeeper who charged that he attacked her in his Manhattan hotel suite in May, according to two well-placed law enforcement officials.
Although forensic tests found unambiguous evidence of a sexual encounter between Mr. Strauss Kahn, a French politician, and the woman, prosecutors do not believe much of what the accuser has told them about the circumstances or about herself.
