Obama's Gambling Problem; Social Security Sell-out is a Follow-up to his Sequester Sell-out-- Both Failed Bets

From http://www.flickr.com/photos/85217387@N04/8634509173/: Rolling the dice on Social Security AND the Sequester

There are some smart people arguing that Obama really doesn't want to cut social security by tying it to the CPI. They say he's doing it to call the bluff of the Republicans in congress, that the Republicans won't buy his proposal, so it's really not going to happen.

The problem is, Obama used the same kind of thinking with the sequester-- put a crazy, extreme deal on the table and it will force the two sides to come up with a reasonable, more palatable deal.

We know how that worked. Now, with the major support and enablement of Obama and the go-along with anything Obama says Democrats in congress (not all, but most of them, including 47 members of the Progressive Caucus who would not sign a letter refusing to cut medicare or social security,) it is possible that Social Security will be cut. Apologists for corporatist Democrats always cite the "poor Barack" refrain-- that he's doing all he can but the bad Republicans are at fault, really.

Well, for both the sequester and this looming cut of Social Security, that's total bull, or delusion. Obama initiated both ideas. He put them on the table.

Obama has a gambling problem. We've learned he is incapable of negotiating-- that he makes his final offer first, with no room to negotiate. Now, we've learned that he also doesn't understand gambling. The problem is, the stakes he's been playing with have been the food and medicine for the elderly, the jobs of tens of thousands in the government, student's loans, air traffic safety-- the list goes on and on.

Of course, I'm doing it again. I tend to forgive Obama and blame it on a flaw or weakness, when deep down inside, I know, and most of the time I remember, that it's not a problem, not a mistake. Obama CHOOSES these options and knows full well the outcomes he can expect and then sign into law.

Norman Solomon writes more about Obama and his poodle Democrats in his article, Time to Bell the Obama Cat.

Gambling can be an addiction. When it is, gamblers betray their families, their employers. They put it all on the line and lose. Maybe Obama has a gambling problem. Maybe he's intentionally selling out the middle class for his corporatist friends-- the ones who he'll be hanging out with come January, 2017, when he leaves office.

There are things you can do about this. Tell your Democratic voting friends what you have long known, that Obama is not really their friend, that their gamble on voting for the lesser of two evils is biting them back now. Tell them that it's time to fight for a US that has vibrant, robust, viable third parties, so the two party system becomes as much a part of history as the buggy whip.

Rob Kall has spent his adult life as an awakener and empowerer-- first in the field of biofeedback, inventing products, developing software and a music recording label, MuPsych, within the company he founded in 1978-- Futurehealth, and founding, organizing and running 3 conferences: Winter Brain, on Neurofeedback and consciousness, Optimal Functioning and Positive Psychology (a pioneer in the field of Positive Psychology, first presenting workshops on it in 1985) and Storycon Summit Meeting on the Art Science and Application of Story-- each the first of their kind. Then, when he found the process of raising people's consciousness and empowering them to take more control of their lives one person at a time was too slow, he founded Opednews.com-- which has been the top search result on Google for the terms liberal news and progressive opinion for several years. Rob began his Bottom-up Radio show, broadcast on WNJC 1360 AM to Metro Philly, also available on iTunes, covering the transition of our culture, business and world from predominantly Top-down (hierarchical, centralized, authoritarian, patriarchal, big) to bottom-up (egalitarian, local, interdependent, grassroots, archetypal feminine and small.) Recent long-term projects include a book, Bottom-up-- The Connection Revolution, debillionairizing the planet and the Psychopathy Defense and Optimization Project.
