For OpEdNews: Jason Paz - Writer Obama May Mop Up
Dobbs The
Presidents prefers a vibrant two-party system. The group in the minority has an
obligation to monitor the majority to keep it in line with what is good for the
country. Obama is trying to mop up the floor from the Republican mess. Instead
of co-operating in the effort, the GOP criticizes calling the mop Socialist.
CNN is Considering Dropping Dobbs for His Hate Campaign
The networks are diving to the bottom of crazy. Madness and sensation sell us stuff we don't need. Dobbs justifies his diatribes against Hispanics as his right for free speech. He claims the reasons for his view as The War on Terror and the War on Drugs. He declines to mention the number of illegal Mexican immigrants jailed for terror or narcotic violations.
Head of La Raza Janet Murguia Debates Dobbs on Immigration
Janet Murguia accuses the cable news networks of a bigoted attitude against illegal immigrants. She claims the network invites bigots and vigilantes to their shows who promote the hatred that leads to violent crimes against Hispanics.
After she criticized the Minutemen as a hate crime group, Dobbs challenged her to cite one instance of criminal behavior. She described the arrest and conviction of Christopher Simcox the founder of the Minutemen. He had been caught in a National Park hunting illegal immigrants with a gun. Lou countered with the specious claim that Simcox was no longer the chief of the Minutemen.
Hate words have consequences.
Another frequent visitor to the Dobbs show is Dan Stein. Backed by the notorious Pioneer Foundation, he has been cited by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the ADL for hate speech against many minorities. In response, Dobbs attacked the Law Center and the ADL. When a clever hate monger is caught in a lie, the knee-jerk response is to attack again with a stronger false allegation.
In the Discussion There Are Two Currents Side by Side
Far from a bigot, Lou portrays himself as a former field worker who likes and respects Mexicans. He welcomes the person who migrated legally to get a job. According to him, the government of Mexico should make its country a more desirable place to keep her citizens home. These arguments are off the topic of hate speech. By shifting the conversation to the poor performance of the governments, Lou wants to shift the blame to them.
Janet will have nothing to do with this. She began by faulting CNN for giving credibility to hate groups and to vigilantes. They use this inroad to bash Hispanics with lies. Demonizing immigrants is the first step towards abusing them.
