For OpEdNews: Richard Volaar - Writer

According to Debkafiles and in harmony with the Israeli right wing Likudniks, Obama and the incoming Olmert government are sending the "green light" to Syria's Assad for the political, possibly military, takeover of Beirut.

Over the last month, Syria has signed a major naval port deal with Russia, received anti-aircraft missiles from Russia and has taken to surrounding Lebanon on its northern and eastern borders.

Why would an incoming Obama administration attempt to join forces with an incoming Olmert administration that is clearly signalling appeasement to an ever oil-hungry Russian bear?  On the western border of a militarily sensitive, if not entirely vulnerable, Iraq?  With an alleged terrorist co-conspirator in Iran on Iraq's eastern border?

My thinking here is that Debka is running a psyop and attempting to get the Obama Administration to tip their hand one way or the other.  It simply is not enough for the Likudniks that Obama has a former Israeli Defense Forces civilian volunteer and AIPAC cheerleader as its chief of staff, they have to have an immediate response to the consequences of their every misguided whim.

I hasten to remind the gentle reader that the Mossad unilaterally declared, and has very likely acted on (on US soil) a policy of political murder against the enemies of Israel.  Which enemies?  Israel's right wing gets to make that call.

I really do not believe that Barak Obama, or his mentor Brzezinski, would sign off on Russian imperialism by rewarding its chief enabler in that region, Syria.  The only thing that would exceed the stupidity of such a policy would be its utter lack of intelligence.

I think it would reasonable to assume that the neo-cons in Israel are looking for a pulse from the neo-cons elsewhere in the world.  With the impending fall of the House of Bush on the horizon, the pro-military, pro-fascist neo-conservative agenda is on the ropes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bushi'ites aren't the ones calling on the Mossad to stir this one up for them, using Debkafiles, so that they can slip out the back door and escape accountability for the consequences of their failed policies -- one more time.

Word-up, Israel: Russia on your northern border is your problem, too.  While we are busily trying to repair the damage your paranoia has done to our foreign policy and military infrastructure, you might want to consider getting off your duffs and begin showing the gumption it takes to keep bears caged and asleep.

Chinese food usually does the trick.
