We now have Congress readying itself to give up its authority to debate and amendment trade agreements by simply raising their hand (most likely with their faces covered in order to keep anonymity) without out any other input.

First, in what should be a democracy they were "hired" by the American people (at least those who either chose to vote or were allowed to vote due to anti-vote, unconstitutional, laws) to represent us on issues such as trade bills that will affect our environment, our economy, and most of all our sovereignty.

Presently, they are giving up that duty when they approve "Fast Track" as they will not be able to debate or amendment what they are handed by the President, now or for years to come.

Think about that nightmare for a moment. "Fast Track" will give all trade authority to the likes of Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, or whomever else is appointed to the White House throne (heaven help us if any of those attains that goal).

But in the immediate future, the people are not allowed to know what these trade agreements entail. We have heard glimpses of some of them. For example we have heard there are twenty some chapters involved, yet only five of those pertain to trade. What's that again? An agreement dealing with trade yet less than 20% actually deals with trade? That in itself sound ominous and we, the people, are told it will be good for us.

Now our "representatives" are allowed to read this TPP, however they are forbidden from talking about what it contains. Now that is comforting, isn't it?

From what we do know about the TPP, these are some of the reasons it should be stopped:

10 Ways that TPP Would Hurt Working Families

1. TPP will allow corporations to outsource even more jobs overseas.

According to the Economic Policy Institute, if the TPP is agreed to, the U.S. will lose more than 130,000 jobs to Vietnam and Japan alone. But that is just the tip of the iceberg.

o Service Sector Jobs will be lost. At a time when corporations have already outsourced over 3 million service sector jobs in the U.S., TPP includes rules that will make it even easier for corporate America to outsource call centers; computer programming; engineering; accounting; and medical diagnostic jobs.

o

o Manufacturing jobs will be lost. As a result of NAFTA, the U.S. lost nearly 700,000 jobs. As a result of Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China, the U.S. lost over 2.7 million jobs. As a result of the Korea Free Trade Agreement, the U.S. has lost 70,000 jobs. The TPP would make matters worse by providing special benefits to firms that offshore jobs and by reducing the risks associated with operating in low-wage countries.

2. U.S. sovereignty will be undermined by giving corporations the right to challenge our laws before international tribunals.
