What's happening to Barack Obama? That's the "buzz" question circulating both in cyberspace and across the nation. An admitted fact that the former Chicago South side Community organizer was skinny from the outset...he does look thinner these days, a bit frayed of late, and his hair appears to be getting a tad more gray each day.
Even though he touts himself as being "tough"... Obama's countenance looks tired and he seems gaunt and in need of rest. Truth be told... this should come as no surprise to anyone, as he has been getting 'whacked' pretty hard from all his recent flip-flops since being declared the Democratic nominee just over a month ago.
Not only has Obama had to rebutt, re-explain and re-define his position over-and-over again on every flip-flopping charge the media mirrors back at him daily, but he also has to bat-down each and every attack and counterattack lobbed at him by Senator John McCain and his camp...24/7.
It stands to reason why rumors are swirling that Obama has resorted to smoking cigarettes. Just in the past 30-days, Obama has had to deal with: the Women-in-scarves-fiasco (angering the Muslims); him calling that White female reporter "sweetie" (angering the women); General Wesley Clark's dissing of McCain's POW record (angering the Vets); the "it's not-my-job-to-vet-the- vetters" debacle (angering the Super Ds); and now, today... alienating his base with his blatant U-turn on FISA.
In addition to reneging on his campaign finance reform pledge, openly agreeing to expand Bush's Faith-based Initiatives, watering down his Gun control stance, opposing the recent Supreme Court's 'rape' decision, his reversal and re-reversal on his signature Iraq troop withdrawal in 16-months (all of which angered the Move.on crowd and the rest of the left-wing Netroots), the mounting chorus of "why-won't-he-show-his-authentic-birth-certificate" charges (angering the Patriots); and...not to mention Hillary's rich, white, money folks closing their pocketbooks to him -- all while the PUMAs (Party Unity My Ass) group blowing up the internet to recruit those 18 MILLION Clinton Women/Men voters to support McCain in November. What???
And that does not include "whacks" from Momar Khadafi, alleging that Obama was "less-than-a-man-of-African-descent" in his recent (flip-flop over the top) kowtowing to the Israeli audience; Independent Presidential nominee Ralph Nader all-but calling him an "Uncle Tom" for not addressing Black issues in his campaign; Green party presidential hopeful Cynthia McKinney coming out-of-the-gate referring to Obama as a "spineless" fake and fraud; and even Libertarian Party presidential nominee Bob Barr piled on...challenging Obama's leadership skills and referring to him as either "Tweedle dee or Tweedle dum"...
"When it comes to protecting the people's fundamental liberties, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum," observes Barr. "If Sen. Obama will not confront the Bush administration over years of lawless conduct, why is he running for president?"
All of this... and he hasn't even stepped foot in Iraq and Afghanistan yet. There is no telling what gaffes and 'switcheroos' await the world when he arrives there.
Odds makers continue to predict Obama, and his camp, will implode -- similar to the likes of racing's wonder horse "Big Brown." Well, one thing is for sure, the General Election climate will be far more gruesome and way nastier than it has ever been in presidential political history. And by then, today's 'whacks' will look like 'love-taps' before it's over!

Gore is a flip-flopper, Kerry is a flip-flopper, now Obama is a flip-flopper...when is someone going to wise up to the game?
In the meantime McCain continues on saying whatever comes to his mind without regard to what passed through his lips the day before, even an hour before, and when those thoughts differ the media simply tells us what he meant to say was...just like back in the days of Reagan...
Don't get on Obama for "flip-flopping", get on him for things like pardoning the telecoms for their illegal, even treasonous, activity on invading our privacy. Get on his case for giving Bush all the money he needs for this illegal occupation of Iraq. Those are real, but don't try to make up crap about his saying one thing ten years ago and saying something differently today...that's garbage.

or Hillary Clinton? Maybe third party, but that is of a rather lower order of probability. It's the technique of making your point, then belaboring it that is the dead givaway of propaganda. You're pretty good at hiding your motivation, though. My guess is that you're a Hillary shill prepping for a convention coup.
C'mon, don't be bashful, I'll stipulate that anyone who's fool enough to turn their back on Hillary Clinton for long enough to get backstabbed deserves the shiv. I just don't think that Obama's as dumb as that. But Hillary is slave enough to her ambition that she won't allow anything, including sanity, to stay her from the lunge.
I guess we'll see come August. If she's successful, oh well, and if she's not, that has the benefit to the nation of putting a nanosecond horizon on the end of her political career.

Ms. Berryhill has posted four articles on this site,
6/29/08 Nader Hits Obama Between the Eyes!
7/1/08 Wesley Clark Gives McCain Keys to White House
7/7/08 McKinney Poised to Challenge Obama For Left-Wing and Black Voters
7/9/08 Obama Gets "Whacked" For Blatant Flip Flops
Am I alone in detecting a pattern of monomaniacal hyperbole here?
I would not say that Ms. Berryhill does not have a right to post whatever she wishes to, and I do not claim that she should modify her outlook. I'm certainly in no position to personally censor her since her views are, without any question, as valid as mine.
But at the same time, I will point out what I see as an effort with a theme, and, no doubt, ulterior motives, so that no one need be taken in by the propaganda.

Author is a Long Time Republican - Supporter of Bush
Your article wins hands-down for the worst article on this site. The only flip-flop in the entire article is FISA. After reading about your background, I am once again appalled that supposed Christians would write this article.
Every time someone like you makes a mockery out God's word, you reduce the potential that people will learn about the love Jesus taught us to show our neighbor. They will continue to say, "Christians are a bunch of hypocrites."
Ms Berryhill have not been loving your neighbor.
Matthew 7:5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
I am a white woman that is almost Hillary's age. I don't sweat the small stuff over someone calling me "sweetie." There are far more important things in the world. Senator Obama was not being patronizing.
I do get upset about devious actions intended to harm someone else. I found the below comments to be especially interesting. Who are you trying to reach?
* White female reporter - white capitalized in the middle of a sentence.
* Hillary's rich, white, money folks closing their pocketbooks to him
* Nader all-but calling him an "Uncle Tom" - sorry this is beyond crazy, but it did get Nader several days of free advertising.
It stands to reason why rumors are swirling that Obama has resorted to smoking cigarettes.

Was Rev Wright to Obama What Karl Rove Was to Bush?
One has to question–– with all the recent gaffes, blunders and mistakes Senator Barack Obama has been making of late… was Rev. Jeremiah Wright to Obama what Karl Rove was to Bush? People often said that Rove was Bush’s brain. So, did Obama get rid of his brain when he got rid of former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright?
Say what you will about Pastor Jeremiah Wright and his influence on Obama for 20 years… but as the voting public compares the actions, decisions and carefully crafted image of Obama “BW” (Before Wright) to the bumbling, flip-flopping, pandering behavior Obama now depicts “AW” (After Wright) is like night and day. He may wish he had kept “old crazy uncle” Jeremiah in his kitchen cabinet before this is all over. www.vberryhill-soulvoice.blogspot.com

Ms Berry is a long time Republican and supporter of President Bush.
President Bush waged an unjust war that was against the teachings of Christ.
Bush, Cheney, and Rove have the blood of 4,111 US Soldiers and over 500,000 innocent Iraq civilians on their hands.Countless people with physical and mental injuries for the rest of their life.Several million Iraq people have lost everything.
Anyone that does not speak-up for the injustice the United States has inflicted on innocent civilians also have blood on their hands.
Rev Wright stood-up for the long list of terrible injustices the US has inflicted on other countries. He stood-up for the innocent babies.Rev Wright served in the military and has dedicated his life to helping others.
The following is a preacher that knows about social injustice being against God's word. Bombing innocent people for an unneed war.
Shouldn’t all preachers exercise their prophetic call to encourage this country to live up to its own principles?
We must remind America of what true patriotism is, and more important, what it is not!
This controversy is important because of the way we define the role of ‘religion’ in politics.
When I first heard about this story I thought it was amazing the media was so focused on some preacher’s sermon.
I have been intrigued by the criticism leveled at Sen. Barack Obama because of sermons his pastor preached. I have been criticized on occasion for preaching sermons people disagreed with, yet to the best of my knowledge, no one in any church I have served has ever been held accountable for my words.
People were so angry about what the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright said and reporters seemed to be so confused because they perceived his words to be an assault on the United States of America. That’s not patriotic to them, and we all know folks can get mighty testy about patriotism.
I grieve over the shallowness of our national pride. The selfish rhetoric about the greatness of our country pales in comparison to the atrocities we have committed throughout the world. Instead of trying to live up to what we stand for as a nation we defend our bad behavior, and hardly ever admit when we are wrong.
I doubt I would ask God to “damn America,” but I am asking God to “help America” recognize its own arrogance. We have been guilty as a nation of the very things we claim to oppose. We can’t promote high moral ethics when our national behavior contradicts our words.
Few people want to be challenged
Few people want to hear sermons that challenge us to live up to the true meaning of our creeds. Yet we all want our country to stand for nobility and honor. We want our leaders to find new peace initiatives to work with hated neighbors, and we demand that our leaders stop lying to us. We want our country to be “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
When our country conducts itself as less than that, preachers must call it to account and urge the necessary changes for it to be so. Real patriotism settles for nothing less. It takes a lot of courageto preach a sermon demanding that.
I deplore television preachers who have become famous and wealthy riding the wave of a prosperity gospel. I applaud and admire any preacher who becomes a modern-day John the Baptist crying in the wilderness. Such homiletics are truly a statement of honor and a badge of courage.
I love the United States of America. I cherish our Constitution. But, like Dr. Wright, I must express outrage in the pulpit if my country demonstrates conduct that contradicts the essence of that very Constitution.
Shouldn’t all preachers exercise their prophetic call to encourage this country to live up to its own principles? Isn't real patriotism much more than waving a flag and reciting the pledge of allegiance?
Patriotism as the people of God might define it is when we work for justice, when we hunger for peace, when we share our blessings, when we love mercy, and when we walk humbly with our God. I know this is a far notion from a chicken in every pot and two cars in every garage. But that is what I think of when I hear Kate Smith sing “God Bless America."

My initial perception was correct. When first reading that Ms Berryhill was a Republican, I assumed that was her reason.
I found many anti-Obama plastered all over the Internet, but then I found a few anti-McCain.
June 2, 2008 Clinton Knows the Super-Delegate Okey Doke...
Here is the million dollar question of the day: Is the 2008 Democratic primary going to end any time soon? Well... a couple of scenarios must be taken into serious consideration in order to conclude that answer. And... the bottom line is that all scenarios connect back in someway to the Super Delegates... as neither Senators Clinton or Obama can legitimately claim the nomination as the math stands today.
blabber , blabber
What a joke this is. Conventional wisdom says Clinton stays in the race for that one, last big Super Delegate dice roll at the Convention. The stakes are too high ...and the prize is too big for her to come this far and walk away now. What does she have to lose? Friends or favor in the Democratic party? PLEEZE!
Clinton's 'Gutsy' Church Appearance Softens Evangelicals
A good reception at the influential megachurch might help Clinton make inroads among the evangelical voters.
“Sen. Clinton has the boldness to broaden her base…it shows she’s done her homework and she’s open to new ideas,” said Vivian Berryhill, president and founder of the National Coalition of Pastors’ Spouses, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
“We’re very religious in this country, and these are the people who helped elect [President] Bush,” Berryhill said as she motioned around the Saddleback worship hall. “So for her to come here is a gutsy move.”
Democratic race, in the last leg coming into the home stretch, the lone philly (Hillary) was able to intimidate --and yes almost overtake the stallion who eventually won: Big Brown (Obama).

First of all, let me say we need to pass legislation for equal pay for women. Now, I don't pay my staffers equal pay, but my opponent, John McCain does, so legislation is necessary. Now, for all of you Hillary supporters: Come on, sweeties. I know I didn't fight for equal rights, or do any time in the trenches or anything, but I was a heck of a community organizer (whatever that is). I have to admit, it's a good thing Emil Jones, Jr. let me take credit for all of the legislation he authored in Illinois or my thin resume would be nonexistent! LOL!! But, hey, that's what friends are for, at least until the bus comes along. Dean, Pelosi, Moveon.org, and all the rest have pushed for me, too, along with the MSM. A shout out to my homey, Olbermann, woo, woo!) But, sweeties, the point is this: I stole this election fair and square. Send me your money, vote for me and I might even give your girl Hillary a job writing up some healthcare legislation. Don't expect her to get too close to the White House, though; to be honest, Michelle wants to pick out the drapes herself and she just doesn't like Hillary. Me, I think she's likeable enough, but--well, you know women. So stop crying and get over it. You're going to have to settle for me, the unqualified, inexperienced guy. But, let's be real: I'm a Democrat and it's a rule, isn't it? I mean, you have to fall in line and vote for me, don't you?

to tell you how tedious it is to see these people (no, its not only women) who were such underhanded campaigners turning into such sore losers. Then, they hold a gun to their own head, screaming for the tendering of their desired considerations or else they'll pull the trigger.
Pull the friggin' trigger.
If you can cast a vote for John McCain, its because you are a Republican, and you don't mind endorsing the way this nation has been systematically gutted over the past seven and a half years. Moreover, you have a track record of bad choices. You're doing what I would expect you to do.
So, let your conscience be your guide, but don't go around thinking that I owe you or your preferred candidates any consideration on any level. It just ain't so.

I'm a Democrat and it's a rule, isn't it? I mean, you have to fall in line and vote for me, don't you?
I vote on the issues, not a party line.Through the years I have moved to mostly Democratic type policies.
The individual also matters. While people like to smear Obama.A very large number of people see a person with character.
Dedicated to Public Service - Main Street Rather Than Wall Street - 1990 Interview about Being President of the Harvard Review.
The president of the law review usually goes on to serve as a clerk for a judge on the Federal Court of Appeals for a year, and then as a clerk for an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Mr. Obama said he planned to spend two or three years in private law practice and then return to Chicago to re-enter community work, either in politics or in local organizing.
Some of My Reasons for Obama
I want a President that gives the highest tax cuts to 95% of Americans.McCain will continue President Bushes tax cuts strongly that strongly favored the wealthy. It is my turn for a larger chuck.McCain and his wife would save almost $400,000 every year under his plan.McCain doesn't need another $400,000 every year.
Although I do not believe in abortions, making it illegal will not stop abortions, it will mean back-alley abortions, while the wealthy get safe illegal abortions.Women have been getting abortions since ancient Greeks.
I want a President that has the temperament to work with foreign governments, to try negotiation before waging an unjust and unnecessary war on Iraq.
I want a President that supports education, social security, and Medicare.
McCain has a long record of voting against education initiatives. His current balance the budget includes cuts for social security and Medicare.
Anyone that wanted Hillary's issues would want Obama's because they are almost identical.
Voting for Nadar, Barr, or Cynthia McKinney out of anger will only help McCain win.
As St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, an enthusiastic Clinton backer, said this week, “You don’t spend your life fighting for women’s rights and then vote for Sen. McCain.”
A poll conducted by Planned Parenthood in 16 likely battleground states uncovered the following:
Despite his extreme voting record, 51 percent of women voters in battleground states have no idea what John McCain's positions are on women's reproductive health issues.
Forty-nine percent of women currently backing McCain express pro-choice views, and 46 percent of women supporting McCain over Obama want to see Roe v. Wade upheld - yet McCain supports overturning the legislation.
McCain is one of the good ole boys that make sexist and negative remarks about women.
·calling his wife a "c*nt" and "b*tch" in public,
·making that Chelsea was so ugly her father must me Janet Reno
·He gets a ZERO rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL.
·McCain's missed (deliberately) the vote on the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and has stated his opinion that women who want equal pay consideration should simply update their skill sets.
McCain Voted against:
·requiring health care plans to cover birth control (3/22/03).
·comprehensive, medically accurate sex education (7/25/06).
·international family planning funding (3/14/96).
·funding to prevent teen and unintended pregnancies (3/17/05).
·public education for emergency contraception (3/17/05).
·restoring Medicaid funding that could be used for family planning for low-income women (3/17/05).
·Blacks should infiltrate mainstream to affect change. (Aug 2007)
·African-Americans vote Democratic because of issue stances. (Jul 2004)
·Supports affirmative action in colleges and government. (Jul 1998)

John McCain’s Iraq Policy Is Good For Lobbyists & Defense Contractors
MSM has continually ignored McCain's false statements. McCain apparently thought he could continue through the campaign; however, he went over the top this week. The question is whether McCain's false statements about taxes, the economy, his voting record, etc will last as long as the flag pin issue.
