"But our democracy might work better if we recognized that all of us possess values that are worthy of respect: if liberals at least acknowledged that the recreational hunter feels the same way about his gun as they feel about their library books, and if conservatives recognized that most women feel as protective of their right to reproductive freedom as evangelicals do their right to worship."
In my small position of power (being a mommy) I have a hard time accepting an argument brought on by those I am supposed to have rule over. Which is one very good reason not to ever give me more power than I can handle! (Bush comes to mind and I don't know why!!)
People in power need to possess the willpower to ward off superpower egos!
This is the point of my last message---Give the man a chance to prove himself before we start slinging around our gripes! The man has ALOT to deal with and deserves a chance to show us he is giving it all that he has got.
Who better to have in our corner? Would the world be better of if we were sitting here waiting on Mcpalin to go into the white house?People have become so petty and want nothing more than to gain a few seconds fame by bitching about petty things (as if they could do a better job)!
I am proud of America for making a wise decision and I am proud of Obama for raising hopes of people around the globe--not just in America. The world sees us in a different light now--they grin and nod their heads the same way I do when my children (after various attempts to prove me wrong) FINALLY accept a truth that I had been trying so hard to get them to hear!
The poor man has not even been given the chance to show us how things in government have gone wrong--and people are attacking before it is time.
I myself do not want to be attacked on my ability to raise children just because you cannot understand my way of getting things done! In the end, my ability to do my job cannot be based on what so and so thought I should have done--it is based on what I did accomplish! You cannot possibly see the outcome before hand so give me a chance to prove that my way will work out for the best and produce an amazing outcome that will benefit the world and everyone that my children come in contact with! My way would confuse many (and send Dr. Phil to the insane asylum) but my life is not about being voted most popular--it is about doing my job and doing it right! The circumstances change daily and I have new trials every day--but in living this life and threading through my tiny power post of mommy--I am that much more in awe of the man who is about to take over this shitstorm that we call government!!
This man and his family have decided to fight for us at a time when our America is already on its knees. He is standing in front of us in an attempt to ward off any more hits---He sees us bleeding and he also sees our opponents bleeding so his heart compels him to stop the fight--he wants to talk to our opponents and call the fight so that we all win!
We all win when we trust the judgment of the one who is putting all bets aside in an effort to save the fighters. The people who bet on the fight are going to get pissed--but our new leader doesn't care about popularity--he cares about doing the right thing!
It is not a sign of weakness to stop a fight that will kill us all in the end--it is a sign of strong character when you watch a man do this against all odds!
I will enjoy my win with my one tiny vote and I will wait for dissapointments that I hope never come---but I will also try to see all sides including our new leader's--he is in for a hell of a job that I would never take on and I respect his will to go into a corrupt government with a fucked-up president handing over all his mistakes! This man has more on his shoulders tonight than any of us can understand!
Sure--we can all give advice on stuff that we have no clue about--but how well has all the advice tossed on you benefited your life?
God Love us all ---Cynthia
