My name is Ron Grim and what im about to tell you will shock you as it did to myself and my family.
I was running for City Council in the last elections even though I was suffering with sever ear aches for several months but felt that I could still handle the job if elected.
During the Campaign I started getting weak and as each day went by I got weaker and weaker,we went to my Doctor and was told it was just probably stress but it got worse and to top it off my ears were bleeding.
I had been seeing Doctor Jackson's PA Julie for several months over my ear problems and my wife and I went back to the Doctors and Julie consulted with Doctor Jackson and again just prescribed me antibiotics,ear drops and hydrocodone and again said that my weakness was just from stress,we went home and I layed in bed and just did not have the strength to do much of anything.
I had been laying in bed for weeks & weeks unable to campaign for City Councel at all.
One night I saw a tv show that talked about Testosterone and my wife and I went back to the Doctors and asked to have my Testosterone checked. It was checked and it was at 300-- a normal person's Testosterone level should be between 500 and 900, PA Julie consulted with Doctor Jackson and I was presribed 29 mg Testosterone patches and my wife, a nurse of 25 years, was shocked but we complied and used the patches but I got weaker.
We went back to see PA Julie and asked to have my Testosterone checked again and it came back worse,it was now down to a level of 275,PA Julie spoke with Doctor Jackson and he had her prescribe me Andro Gel Testosterone that you rub on your shoulders,stomach and arms,I woke up the next morning and I could barely breath,My throat was almost closed and I could barely swallow,My wife called the clinic but P.A Julie was not there and nether was Dr Jackson and we were told to call the emergency room and then my whole life would be turned upside down!
My wife called the emergency room and because the town is so small they told us that the emergency room Doctor on call was Doctor Shuey and that we should go straight to his Doctors office,We quickly went to Doctor Shueys office and im starting to panic and getting dizzy and all that I remember after that was sitting in a room talking to a Doctor and then the door came flying open and Doctor Shuey was screaming and cursing me.
My wife took me home and gave me a Clonazepam and I fell asleep when I awoke my throat had opened up and I could breath normal and thats when my wife told me what happened,she said that she was explaining to the Doctor that my Doctor had gave me a prescription of Andro Gel Testosterone and that id had an elergic reaction to it and before she could finish Doctor Shuey had stormed in calling me a drug addict and several other names that I cant write,My wife demanded that he look at my throat and bleeding ears and he looked at my throat and screamed his touncels are fine and threw the stick adainst the wall,wrote a prescription of ear drops and told me to get the F%#&^ out of his office(I DONT EVEN HAVE TONSILS)
We scheduled an appointment to see P.A Julie and told her what happened and she was shocked,we then went to Chiefs Drugs where Doctor Shuey had called and spoke to a young man whom kept saying he was sorry over and over again,he said when Doctor Shuey called him he had accidently got me mixed up with someone else and that it was an accident and that he was very very sorry,I told him that it was ok and that accidents happen,on the way home we checked the mail and there was a letter from Doctor MCcellen of the Beatrice Medical Center stating that we had discussions before about me going from Doctor to Doctor trying to get narcotics for my back injury and that he could no longer be my Doctor.
I had met Doctor MCcellen just over a year before,he replaced Doctor Hoffman whom had been my Doctor for years and when he no longer worked at the Beatrice Medical Center they called me and I met Doctor MCcellen once for about 4 minutes,He had all of my prescriptions wrote out for one year and told me that after that year if I had not found a Doctor he would be happy to be my physician and we shook hands and I never saw him again,P.A Julie knew that he had wrote my prescriptions for a year and id never ever once seen another Doctor except when the emergency room told me to go to Doctor Shueys office after my Doctors office told my wife to call the emergency room.
At this time my ears were worse and I had got so weak that I could barely walk but we made it to my Doctors office and I showed the letter to P.A Julie and I asked her to please please investigate me and if she finds out that ive seen or been in any Doctors office for any reason other than Doctor Shuey where the emergency room told my wife to take me then turn me in and never see me as a patient and to take me off all medications.
P.A Julie did in fact investigate and found that I had never ever seen any Doctors period and even wrote a letter stating that but Nebraska Medicaid pushed that aside with other plans for me.
My wife brought home another letter from Nebraska Medicaid stating that I was on a lockdown and could not see any Doctor or fill any prescription and that I could only go to the emergency room which Doctor Shuey was in charge of and that id stay on the Nebraska Medicaid lockdown until I had an over the phone hearing.
I was bedridden & ill for weeks and had no strength or appetite and was losing weight,on the day of the hearing I was so weak that I had to crawl on my hands & knees to the phone.
It was with an Nebraska Medicaid Attorney,Nebraska Medicaid State Pharmacy Personal and a Nebraska Medicaid Judge and all that I kept asking was please name one Doctor that ive went to and they could not,10 days later I recieved a letter stating that I was found guilty of Doctor Shopping for narcotics and that I had to be locked in with one doctor and use one pharmacy,The letter also stated the names of the Doctors three whom worked with Doctor MCcellen at the Beatrice medical center whom ive never seen or even heard of and that Chiefs Drugs Pharmacy testified over the phone that id seen these Doctors,
