My unenthusiastic vote vis-a-vis the upcoming November 2nd Election

It will be the carcass of me, or what the pundits refer to as my unenthusiastic self, the one going out to vote this November 2nd in Florida's Congressional District 22nd. Here in the Florida 22nd Congressional District (and most likely in most of the rest of Florida's congressional Districts up for a vote) the choices are hardly any choices at all. The only real choice that this carcass of me going to the ballot box sees is that I need to hold my nose, vote for people currently on the ballot which I see as the least damaging to the country, to my state, to my values and to my political philosophy.

The question for me becomes who to open a door for and who to close a door on if my vote really counted? Except that how can I be sure my vote will count or matter at all.

It was here in Florida where the first who-do-the-bushes-think-they-are blue print for stealing an election was set in motion and took place.

It was here where an unsuspecting electorate saw Republicans move en mass to the Dade County Supervisor of Elections Office, vociferously and menacingly demanding a recount of votes. A recount of votes which ended with a right wing judge of the SCOTUS sitting Bush Jr. in the oval office over and above the voice of the peoples.

It was here that Democracy was had and served to the public on a Bush silver platter.

It was here too where Barack Obama, Howard Dean, Robert Wexler, Don Fowler and many others repeated the stealing of an election by taking half votes away from the votes from Hillary's 2008 primary win to crown Barack Obama as the No 1 man on the democratic ticket. A move they anticipated would, further down the road, crown him king of the hill and sit his ace on the chair in the oval office.

It was here where the votes cast by me from my hands to a voting ballot were suppressed against my will.

So, what will my vote matter this time?

I tell myself, the machines, the Republicans, and the Bush blueprint for stealing elections will do whatever they darn well please with my vote.

Yet, I will press the electronic key one more time. This for a set of politicians who do not at all represent me or my point of view or political philosophy, but who might, if I hold my nose and vote, just might decrease or deflate some of this scent and push of right wing radicalism currently grabbing hold of this country like an unstoppable epidemic of cholera and forceful turn towards fascism.

For the House of Representatives the choice is between the incumbent Ron Klein and the i-want-to-grab-the-seat, Allen West.

In my most humble opinion, Klein votes according to what might most benefit his pocket or his political standing; then sells a bunch of smoked up malarkey about how he did the honorable and morally correct thing in voting the way he did. For example, as when he voted to close the prescription donut hole created by AARP's recommendation to the Bush Jr. Administration, Klein gave high praises to himself for his moral and ethical vote. He never once considered the possibility of Universal Healthcare for All, never once did he or his office replied to any of my letters or phone calls in a way that signified he or they were listening, or even cared to look into the possibilities of a Universal Healthcare For All reform. I know that his letter to me on the subject did not even address the points I made to his office when I called, nor did his e-mail signified that he even read or understood the point in his e-mail reply to me.

Perhaps I should be thankful that he even sent an e-mail even when it was so off the subject that I was trying to address with his office.

Allen West is a case all its own. He is more interested in keeping gay teachers away from Florida school than he is about having an open mind and allowing the teaching of children with good and dedicated teachers. Allen West is also, reportedly, a member of the Outlaw Biker Gang, a group which is also anti-women. A fact which seems to have escaped my neighbors who are currently displaying Allen West signs on their yard, thanks in part to all the malarkey the get on their daily Glen Beck rants.

The country has already been moved back (regressed enough). It does not need to keep on its regressive march.

So who to choose from?
