Our plutocrats have pursued short term profits even over their own long term interests. Note - Our plutocrats are the flesh and blood people responsible for our corrupt corporatism. They own and operate our largest corporations. I have attempted to figure out their motivations for hurting even themselves in the long term. I came up with the possibility that in fact, they are working for future aliens. Our plutocrats don't just serve their own selfish needs but also serve the needs of their alien overlords. They are destroying our world to pave the way for an alien invasion.
Demon Conspiracy - Born again Evangelical Christians may find this idea more palatable if they simply substitute "demons" for "aliens" in the above paragraph, similar to what Mr. Trump has done in demonizing America's illegal aliens, only Trump's illegal aliens are from this star system. The demon theory is different than the variation on the alien theory described in the following paragraphs in that our plutocrats' goals would be to destroy God's creation without any possible mitigation -- just pure evil in a hell on earth.
Back to ET aliens - After further cogitation, discussions with fellow theorists, and hours on YouTube, I have come to wonder why these future aliens would want a destroyed planet. Why would ISIS want to take back Ramadi, Iraq now that we have destroyed it in order to save it? Why would even Iraq want it now that it's rubble? I now see the possibility our plutocrats are destroying the world to make it unattractive to future aliens, preempting an alien invasion.
Perpetual War
I have long thought our plutocrats wanted perpetual war for war profits and cheap resources. America has nearly $600 billion in annual war spending not to defend against any credible threat but to feed our plutocrats, our corporate welfare kings. War, however, has historically been a time of great technological advances. Our plutocrats may want war to push our technology forward so we can meet the coming alien threat.
The F-35 program is the most expensive weapon system in history, but it will no doubt improve technology through its never ending, continuing development. We may not get a trillion dollars of technology improvements, but there should be improvements.
