I can't believe that I, a big Harry Potter movie fan, am writing this. But I found myself nodding off, getting bored, being impatient with this movie again and again.

The script and directing add up to a very weak story that adds up to a limp collection of scenes that fail to build tension or excitement, fail to use the relationships between the characters in a way that helps the story. The CGI is weak and boring.

It's a shame that the main actors are stuck with such bad directing and such an unbelievably bad script.
I literally attended a high school performance the evening I viewed the movie and was more entertained by that.

They're hyping this movie as potentially the best selling move ever. There is not enough hype in the universe to make that happen.

I rate this a two out of five. if this was not a Harry Potter film, I don't th ink the script would have flown in a major movie company.

Looking at the trailer, you see a lot .5 to 2 second scenes strung together. The movie doesn't get much better than the trailer.

My son, who read the book, observed that this part one of the movie is foreshadowing what comes in part two, the final episode in the series. That's not good enough.

I walked out of the film, at the end, thinking how annual viewings of the Harry Potter movie series had become a ritual, but that maybe I'd had enough... a disappointing thought that put an exclamation point on this disappointing movie.

I can't recommend this movie, not even to loyal Potter fans. I'll be interested to see comments, whether it was just me.
