Okay -- are we all recovered from the Superbowl madness? Relived the ridiculous final five minutes for the last time? Marveled at the suspected cost of the insurance policy that allowed Katy Perry to hang from a giant drone? Pondered the astronomical amount of advertising revenue that corporations poured into the coveted airtime? $8 million a minute. Hell, even the Koch brothers don't make that kinda of moolah.
These neo-gladiators are paid billions to entertain us, why shouldn't the corprocats get their shot at exploitation, too?
Imagine the impact those hundreds of millions of dollars could have on research into alternative energy sources, or cancer research, or funding new schools or scholarships for needed students, or any dozen of enterprises that don't involve manipulating the captive consumers into buying more beer, more cars, more Doritos, or Pizza Hut, or any other frankenfood product.
But then it wouldn't be America, would it?
And it's Groundhog Day 2015! That means we get to enjoy not only six more weeks of winter -- but six more years of these new flying monkey senators -- Tom Cotton, Cory Gardner, Shelly Moore Capito, Thom Tillis, Mike Rounds, Steve Daines, David Perdue, and the Grande Dame of them all -- Joni Ernst!
God help us.
