Tell A Friend

This is the real John McCain. Here he shows a temper like a SuperVolcano. He is asked about ads about Obama that are misleading and about the growing chorus of conservative politicians and pundits criticizing his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate.

Steven Leser specializes in Politics, Science & Health, and Entertainment topics. He has held positions within the Democratic Party including District Chair and Public Relations Chair within county organizations. Steven Leser writes for www.opednews.com, an internet only media site that has grown to become one of the highest traffic news sites in America, reaching more traffic, according to alexa.com, than all but the thirty largest daily newspapers in the US. Mr. Leser is one of the 500+ liberal pundits who, each month, are published in what has become one of the top five Liberal/progressive media sites in the US.

Define temper

Most probably expect temper to mean outbursts. I don't see it here. I see even resentment of the entire group of press there to interview McCain.

I question whether or not attention should be brought to this.

We at OEN should be working to make elections about the issues and not about emotions/personalities. If you think emotions/personalities matter, well, write about how those result in McCain's stances on the issues. You may have already.

We're not the corporate media. Let them bring attention to "temper tantrums." Or what he said, she said. Or not.

arrogant

I agree he was nto angry in this video, although he appeared very arrogant and smug.

I also would disagree with the notion that somehow it is not our job to discuss temperment in candidates. McCain is KNOWN as a loose cannon and it is unreported in lamestream media. It is entirely our role, if it is backed up in fact. Unfortunately, this video does not seem to back that up.

"McCain Melts Down in Des Moines Newspaper Interview - video

This article is even more contemptible than anything I have seen in the lowest tabloid beat-up, hack-journo misrepresentation or character-assassination.

A volcano? McCain was his usual defensive self; and not too nimble on his feet, as we have come to expect; but there was no outburst. In fact, the opposite; he was clearly irritated and cut the interview rather than risk an intemperate response. Very sensible, indeed.

I regard McCain as a liar, a parasite, a traitor, a songbird for Hanoi's General Giap, and a borderline sociopath. I do not want him inflicted on this planet. But the idea of journalism is to identify the real person and policies and take this information to the people; not to bitchily sensationalise non-fact or indulge in mindless character destruction. Thousands will have glanced at that headline and believed it; and proselytised the lie.

Leser should be taken out behind his faculty building and shot, and dumped in an unmarked grave. He demeans all journalism.

McCain melts down

If this is not volcano stuff it at least shows the magma simmering below the surface.  McNasty is known for being a jerk and even knowing he was being taped, he could not mask his indignation at being asked questions that chellenged his veracity and integrity.

what you print

I’m beginning to really dislike politics, but I have to admit what I hate even more is the lack of facts and just plain biased reporting I experience every day in the media/press. We may not care for George Bush, but the fact is he is leaving in a few months and probably to a very nice retirement. However, we as Americans have to live with the negativity spread by our press daily. I honestly feel that what other countries really dislike about us is the how badly we talk about ourselves. This nastiness has given voice for others to criticize us such as Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Chavez, etc. We allow it to happen, allow him to come here and say how Israel should be wiped off the map, then invite him over for dinner and give him national airtime. Look, I’m not trying to have you vote for this guy or that, however I would like for you to be aware that we are all being controlled by what we read and what we see, serious or comedy. What is being reported or not, where in the paper it appears, etc. Recently a photographer for the Washington magazine was fired because she was trying to go out of her way to take a nasty photograph of McCain using a strobe light., (thought they did use her photo on the cover) and she went on to post them anyway altered, and nasty. This happens constantly. My question is why cant we just get the facts ?. Why cant we be balanced ? Why not just talk about the positive things Sen Obama plans to do, same for McCain and then we can go on from there. I hate that we are all being used right now. We are being used to hate someone so we vote for another. The press hated Hillary Clinton and basically helped take her down. They hate McCain and are doing the same. Shouldn’t Obama win on his own merit ? Please take a few minutes and check out the 2 videos below. You don’t have to agree, but it does have clear facts. Just an example of how the media works us daily. At the end of the day, whomever you vote for – vote for him because you like him. Don’t do it because someone made you hate another. Lets pass on accurate facts and positives. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RZVw3no2A4 http://www.bercasio.com/movies/dems-wmd-before-iraq.wmv
