Long-awaited e-voting lawsuit preparing to launch!

ETC is poised to file our historic lawsuit: we're seeking to have concealed vote counting declared unconstitutional!

-- A prestigious law firm is working with us!

-- We are about to file the case!

-- With ETC's leadership, 20 NY counties, the Association of Towns, unions and other groups have officially resolved to oppose abandoning our trustworthy lever voting system.

-- Early rollout of the optical scanners (the new system mandated by the State's Election Reform and Modernization Act, ERMA) in the November 3 election, known as the "pilot project," failed dismally.

-- The optical scanners produced impossible results in NY-23, the special Congressional election(see side bar), bringing wider recognition to the dangers of concealed vote-counting. Conservative leaders are coming to ETC for help!

-- The timing of the NY-23 fiasco can propel ETC's lawsuit into the national spotlight. Right now we have the potential to grow our movement into the multi-partisan national concern it truly deserves to be.

And for that, we need YOU!

If ERMA is not stopped, you will never again see a lever voting machine in a NY polling place. And you will never again know whether the announced winner of an electionyou will never again know whether the announced winner of an election truly got the most votes.

What can you give?

How can you help?

Our current needs:

Funds

Although we have a law firm working on our case pro-bono, we must raise funds for some of the litigation expenses, for media outreach, and to educate and mobilize the public. Donate now.

Volunteers

Our volunteer coordinator will find the tasks that match your skills and availability (a few hours a week to full-time): email volunteer@etcnys.org.

Help growing our base of supporters

Concealed vote counting with optical scanners violates our rights.

Have you heard...?

Scanners made a mess of the NY-23 election!

Columbia County Election Commissioner Would Refuse to Certify Electronic Vote Count!
Virginia Martin, Democratic Election Commissioner from Columbia County, testified before a State Assembly committee in October that she would uphold her oath of office by refusing to certify any election whose vote counts she could not verify. Read more.

Did you know...?

ERMA (the Election Reform and Modernization Act) is unconstitutional! More info.

Computer scientists agree: software-based election systems cannot be made secure from undetectable manipulation or error. More info.

Even where electronic vote-counting systems appear to perform smoothly, nobody can know whether the vote totals reflect the choices of the voters.
