Wednesday, May 19, liberal groups against the wars will be sitting in and protesting outside congressmens' home offices, demanding they vote against the upcoming $33 billion to escalate the war in Afghanistan. They are inviting the Tea Parties to join them.

Protests Nationwide Oppose $33 Billion to Escalate Afghan War, Liberal Groups Invite Tea Parties to Join Them

WASHINGTON - May 17 - In 109 congressional districts all over the country, people will be protesting on Wednesday at their local congress members' offices, urging them to commit to voting against $33.5 billion for escalating the war in Afghanistan, and to do so even if lots of other items are included in the bill. Currently an additional $30 billion is included to cover foreign aid, compensation for discrimination claims, and disaster relief.

Organizations participating include Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), WarIsACrime.org, Democrats.com, the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, Healthcare Now, US Labor Against the War, Labor for Single-payer, United for Peace and Justice, the Backbone Campaign, and CodePINK. They have been holding Brown Bag Vigils on the third Wednesday of the month since January.

Invited to participate are tea party activists and anyone else who objects to unjustifiable government spending.

A LIST OF OFFICES TO BE TARGETED HERE

PDAmerica.org is asking Tea Parties to either join them or help swamp the offices with phone calls, demanding a "no" vote on the escalation funding. The reach-out is in the spirit of the "We Agree" Liberty Alliance. In 2008 Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney, and Chuck Baldwin urged us to put aside partisan differences for the sake of the most important principles that we can agree on:

The 4 Principles:

º 1. Freedom from Central & Foreign Bankers
º 2. Freedom from National Debt & Bailouts
º 3. Freedom from Wars & Empire
º 4. Defense Of Our Civil Liberties

PHONE-BANK CALIFORNIA PRIMARIES

You can also phone-bank for Left and Right Unite and support two solid 4 Principles candidates until May 24th in the California primaries. In CA 8 Pelosi faces John Dennis. In CA 36 Jane "Never-met-a-wiretap-I-didn't-like" Harman faces staunchly anti-war, pro-civil liberties Marcie Winograd in the Democratic primary. The deadline to register to vote in a party primary in CA is May 24, and independents can vote in either primary on June 8.
