What a pile of crap.  Nancy G. Brinker, Founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen Foundation has put out a youtube video that looks like some PR crisis management flacks coached her in doing.

She makes a mealy-mouthed, screamingly transparent excuse that this is good for the organization, good for the people it helps.

The thing is, what's been done is the org, run by her, has set new policies that work as a multi-pronged phalanx in attacking Planned Parenthood. Right wing members of congress have started a bogus investigation of Planned Parenthood.

So she passes a policy that organizations under investigation don't get funded.

I'll just include some of the comments from youtube and other sites so you get a flavor for how well her PR  effort is doing:

a few comments from babble.com

" Of course they should have the right to choose where their funding goes, but we have the right to choose to withdraw our support from an organisation whose work and motives are questionable and that pays its CEO just shy of $500,000 a year."
"I think she sounds like a politician who's been schooled by her crisis management team of handlers. There is no sense of compassion here. Besides, Susan G. Komen is guilty of more than this debacle, and I've been skeptical of its marketing tactics for a while"  I'll support other organizations that support women, all women. I'm taking off my rose colored glasses."
"That's fine. I "ve withdrawn my support for all Komen Foundation events/fundraisers.etc. and am directing their portion toward Planned Parenthood from this point forward.  A woman is far more than just her breasts."

And here are some from youtube.
SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME!
"What you are saying is a lie. Are you actually not able to recognize it as such? It is not "straight talk", it is nonsense. You have caved into the right wing fundamentalist agenda, which has always been anti-choice, anti-womens rights. Shame on you. All of our "pink ribbon, pink t-shirt " paraphernalia just went into the trash. My wife is a breast cancer surviver, by the way."
"It seems really odd that the Vice President of SGK,Karen Handel, in another lifetime, was all about ending support to Planned Parenthood and now it happens here..coincidence? I think not. To say this is not political is just not the truth. PP does exactly what you preach...early detection save lives. They did it for those who couldn't afford it. I have marched in race for the cure and applauded what it stood for. Not again From now I will give to PP or other cancer orgs. Rethink what you did."
" What a bunch of political double speak. If you listen carefully, you will hear that she is saying absolutely NOTHING of substance. It is just too bad that your political views would come between two very important and valuable organizations. Planned Parenthood gives valuable and necessary medical care to women who cannot otherwise afford to receive such care. I give to both groups, that is until today. SGK will no longer receive any type of support from me or my family. Shame on you."

Some are raising the question of whether, with its latest actions, Komen is really a political organization that should lose its 501C3 status. There's something that Obama and Holder could do something about.
