Justice MUST be served!!!

Tell A Friend

Imagine you lived in a small town and gradually the "criminal element" (with significant outside help from another town) begin to totally take over your community.

Fairly quickly the word got around that these people were organized crime killers and thieves.  They also had agendas which resulted in the murder and rape of your community environment.

So:

(1.)  They were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of your citizens, many of them children.  They did this in a variety of ways, many of them involving horrific torture.  Naturally, the deaths would be in the hundreds of thousands if their cancerous evil had penetrated your entire country and not just a small community.

(2.)  They left your community in financial ruin.  The money set aside for infrastructure repair was STOLEN.  The money set aside for social security was STOLEN.  The money set aside for retirement plans was STOLEN.  The money set aside form health programs was STOLEN.  And they basically stopped all taxes on the pig rich pigs of the community and transferred 90+ percent of the working class wealth to the pig rich pigs of the community -- with whom they were bed mates from hell.

(3.)  They also managed to use your children as cannon fodder for immoral and manufactured wars against other communities.

(4.)  They also were responsible for the assassination of many of your honorable elected officials

In short, it was as if your innocent community was invaded by an army from hell.  The bottom line is that they murdered your children, your fairly elected government, the sense of human security that goes with things like social security, retirement funds, and health plans. And the far most catastrophic atrocity of all, is they put Mother Nature on a non stop diet of ground glass, i.e., they systematically destroyed the life and death ecosystems of human existence.

OK, now let’s imagine that many of the community members gradually, gradually became "activists" (ultimate heroism) and gradually, gradually confronted and even overwhelmed these monsters from hell.

So, full circle.  The community almost miraculously got its soul back and the "criminal element" was no longer "one up", but "one down". In short the criminals, traitors, and murderers suddenly found themselves on the short end of the stick (after incalculable death, torture, murder of Mother Nature, and the TOTALLY BANKRUPTCY of the community) and the time had finally come to talk about accountability.

May I say that again, the time had FINALLY come to talk about accountability?

Now here's the moment of truth, since broadly generalizing, it turned out that the community was divided into two radically different camps about what to do about accountability.

One point of view basically says, "Oh well."  In other word, these are the people (practically none of whom were ever activists) who see themselves as people who pour oil on troubled waters.  The truth is that they don't want to be involved in any kind of accountability with "teeth".  They have encyclopedias of reasons (rationalizations?) for continuing the cowardly passivity into which they escaped while the activists were fighting the good fight to take back their community.  These are the people who NEVER help the Little Red Hen to bake bread and are dripping with such phrases like: "let's not be negative", "don't dwell on the past", "let's be bipartisan about everything", and "the past is over and done with, so let's focus on the future".

The other view sees this first view and 100% guaranteeing the return of the monsters.  After all, if they can get away with murder, theft, and treason with absolute NO accountably, you can be certain they'll be out there in the outer darkness licking their wounds and planning a MASSIVE counterattack on the community.

Thus, point of view number two is that our only real choice is between congressional, constitutional accountability TO THE LIMIT OF THE LAW, vs. the inevitable return (probably very quickly) of these hordes from hell.

OF COURSE they'll return if all they hear is how they have been “irresponsible” (irresponsible is now a word for mass murder?) and the community on which they have been feeding like vampires is in a forgive and forget mode?

Back at it

The Robber Barron's are back to work the last two days on Wall Street.  The Hedge funds must be dumping stocks after going taking short positions.  They make money on the way down as you lose the money(you invested with them).

The "cover story" is return to the faltering Economy now that the election is over.  Bullshit!  Our faltering economy has been priced in for twelve months. They are all going to take their toys(your toys) and go home.  "We will get you my little pretties" for trying to take away our toys.  Spread your cheeks and get ready for a new Bottom.  By the time we finish celebrating the banks will be empty.

You're assuming Democrats are criminals too?

I fear that if you're assuming that because Obama was elected that some sort of accountability and justice will take place.

Have you forgotten 06' elections? There was a great feeling then that we would see an end to Iraq and a move to impeach. Need I remind you of what happened?

You seem to be of the assumption that Republicans are "the gang" and Democrats are "the people". How you can still cling to this fallacy after 06' is a mystery to this reader.

It is my contention that our town has simply been taken over by another gang, perhaps one that is not as ruthless as the one they disposed, but ruthless none the less. I wouldn't look for any large scale accountability as much as retribution at our continued expense.

Case in point, and this is only one example, but can be applied to any of the crimes committed, would be 9/11. There is no way both parties could not be involved in this crime, even if that one is only guilty of covering-up for the other.

Does one really expect that an Obama to initiate an investigation into a crime that would bring down not just our government, but institutions surrounding it such as all our major news organizations and our MIC?

Can we expect the same thing to our banking institutions?

No, I'm afraid you're placing a white hat on just another gang of bad-guys. I have heard very little coming from this coming administration in the way of enacting any measure of accountability to those they have disposed, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Great article

Great article Bill. I don't believe in forgiving and forgetting criminals, specially when the magnitude of their crimes is as extreme as the neocons'.

However, I doubt if it will happen, what with the bipartisanship and all. Obama won't want to muddy the waters, unless activists come up with specially nasty and damning info on a number of neocon figures. Very likely, the new administration won't do it from its own initiative. Progressive journalists must start going through the rubbish and turn every stone, that would be a start.

I got interested in investigating our governments policices after a friend called me a neocon. At that time I didn't know what she meant. I do now!
I've learned more than I really thought I would want to know about 9/11, the Kennedy's, and expecially about the Bush's history background. It was a hard pill to swallow at first, but the more I found, the more I found myself needing to know.
I now understand how easily it is for a corrupt puppet government involved with the World Bank...

Justice must be served

We are all elated that the sun seems to be able to shine through the American atmosphere once again with the election of Barack Obama as our new President.  But none of us should believe that one man alone can change what has been perpetrated on our country in the last 8 years and more.  Obama's focus will be on repairing everything the Bush regime destroyed.  We must act together to continue to see that justice is done.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and Rice "Must" be made accountable and punished as an example to prevent others from seeing us as "easy prey".  We must act as a united group to make sure that the "dirt" doesn't get swept under the carpet.

It's not about revenge.  Revenge is for payback.  It doesn't change anything or keep something from happening again.

We all must understand that without our persistence to make sure punishment for the crimes that were committed takes place, others will continue where they left off. Just as our children are admonished and given a punishment to prevent behaviours, so must the present Government be.  And the punishment must fit the crime.

Our motivation for moving forward with this must be for our preservation as a free country, and to prevent more unfounded, illegal wars where innocent lives are taken.

No President should be allowed to "Dictate", Write his own laws, Threaten our Constitutional rights, Take us into an illegal war that has killed millions, and Ignore our economy to the brink of destruction.

Action is surely needed against the Bush Regime, just as it was toward Hitler and the German regime for the killing of millions.

He's got 3-5 priorities to work with.

A new President, or new manager of a group, or any other leader has 3-5 major priorities to work with in their first year or two. What would you choose them to be? We know what #1 is and that is the economy. Now we have 2-4 major priorities. We know that Obama's healthcare program is a big priorty for him. Now we are down to 1-3 priorities. Do we:

- Fix Social Security

- Address a major Foreign Policy issue like bringing home the troops from Iraq

- Go over and retract hundreds of Bush signing statements

- Deal with Warrantless Wiretapping, FISA, Patriot Act?

- Engage in the investigation of people like Bush and Cheney, etc?

- Address another major Foreign Policy issue like trying to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian issue

He cannot do all of these. Anyone familiar with what it is like when you take over a big new job knows that. Which ones would you do, not do?

True

Good analysis, but wrong approach. We might be better served determining how to get biggest bang for our buck.  Plugging all the gaping holes left by Bushco will keep us busy for sometime.  But before plugging these holes, we would be wise to take steps to ensure more holes are not popping up faster then we can patch them and that calls for deterrence.  It is impossible to anticipate every scam, before it occurs, so our best bet is to severely punish known illegal and immoral behavior, in an attempt to prevent similar future damage.  Our Justice Department relies on deterrence, shouldn't we follow their lead?

How About The Crime Of 9/11 ?

Ruffians in your community demolished 3 high-rise buildings  and killed something close to 3000 of your friends and relatives and blamed it on some cave-dwellers 10 000 miles away because they had an agenda called PNAC prepared years earlier for wars of agression upon oil rich nations, and you remain silent on this ?

Mr W.Christopher Epler (Bill), aren't you covering up for this crime by not mentionning it while it should have been on the very top of  your list?

Some people posting comments here still want us to believe in the fairly tale of  '19 hijackers with boxcutters who hate our freedom'  bullshit. Who took your freem away in the first place ? The boogeyman or the ruffian bandit?

The idea that stone age Arabs could have so much insider intel and waltz through so many security checkpoints maintained by the most sophisticated security system imaginable ... the idea that people who could barely fly small planes could have operated large planes with an efficiency and precision that defies the talents of top professionals...is absurd, Bill? It is more than absurd, it is cartoon!

And you Bill, you  believe in this cartoon more than believing your eyes?  Tell me how WTC7 came down to its roots at free fall speed without being hit by a plane.

Isn't an investigation into this obvious massmurder and the wars that followed it the first priority for Justice and accounability?

If you have decided not to see this 800-pound gorilla in your living room, then you must be part of the problem.

Sorry for being so rude.

Impeachment was not among Obama's talking points.

If you want Justice and Impeachment for Bush, you will have to ask your member of Congress to file a motion under House Rule #604 and #605.
