In D.C., McCain became the economic traitor to this country

Tell A Friend

If I could pin a label on John McCain, I would pin the label of traitor on him instead of patriot as he led his fellow Republicans into blowing these bailout proceedings out of the water yesterday. Am I skeptical that this will work?  Of course I am.  I am always skeptical when it comes to the actions of this government.  But, something must be done in order to stabilize these markets to avoid a depression.

While I do not pretend to fully understand economics which has been said of McCain, I can understand that we are approaching critical mass economically as I read this article, China banks told to halt lending to US banks-SCMP. What stood out in this article was this passage, “Chinese regulators have told domestic banks to stop interbank lending to U.S. financial institutions to prevent possible losses during the financial crisis,” At least they have regulations to protect their markets and their economy.

While policies enacted by Washington, DC at the hands of deregulators such as John McCain have left us vulnerable, in this passage, China is protecting their self interests when the article reported, "The decree appears to be Beijing's first attempt to erect defences against the deepening U.S. financial meltdown”

As you know we borrow enormous sums of money to keep this government operating from countries such as China.  Now if they will not loan to us; who will?  China has now seen our Achilles heel and took advantage of our weakness.  McCain could have chosen to stay out of dodge yesterday and let those who understand economics more than he does handle it.  But, he chose to further endanger us both economically and globally.

Yes, this is an economic 9/11, but I would say to John McCain, let the first responders who are trained in this area handle it.  McCain got in the way as those first responders made their way up the stairs to rescue this country economically.

I also believe as Barack Obama does that deregulation which McCain was always a champion exposed us all to this economic attack upon our nation from within.  McCain’s own economic advisor Phil Gramm who wrote many of the laws that have now brought us to our knees are to be seen as the ones who brought us down.  While many pray to the alter of the late president Ronald Reagan, his trickle-down economics also got us to where we are today.

When Reagan challenged the Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev to “tear down this wall!” China just put an economic wall.  Do I have reverence for the late president?  No, I do not especially when so many have been hurt and still are hurting as I write this column.  Reaganomics along with Bushanomics destroyed a once vital economy.  And who bowed and continues to bow to the alter of Reagan?  John McCain!

In these past eight-years as President Bush, John McCain and their fellow Republicans have sought to isolate us as a nation labeling others as the “Axis of evil” or not engaging in talks with other countries, this article sounded an economic alarm which was reported by Bloomberg News where Venezuela is seeking closer ties to China.

I want you to pay attention to this, “China, the world's second-biggest oil user, needs fuel as its economy grows at a double-digit pace.” Their economy is growing while ours is sinking quickly into the depths of financial disaster. I do feel our go it alone policy may have averted this financial disaster.

As we seek energy independence which is tied to our economy this passage will absolutely blow your socks off, "China's gross domestic product expanded 10.1 percent in the second quarter. Last year, its economy grew 11.9 percent, the quickest pace in 13 years. The nation will surpass the U.S. as the world's biggest energy consumer in five years, Jeremy Bentham, vice president of global business environment at Royal Dutch Shell Plc, said on Sept. 16."

We have been engaged in that Ponzi scheme known as the Iraq War and all the while we could have been working on our energy independence.  This is where Bush, McCain and the Republicans just sank our battle-ship.

As Sarah Palin tries to interject her understanding of foreign policy and by sounding the alarm to go to war with Russia, she besmirched Venezuela in her acceptance speech before those gathered at the RNC.

Note to Sarah Palin, I have been a columnist as it pertains to Venezuela and feel I know a little more about that country than you do.  Should you have time, Sarah, you may wish to read this article written by me, calling out MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough along with a consultant of theirs Steve Adubuto fact checking their idiotic assertions of Venezuela.

While Washington is trying to do everything humanly possible to save this country from financial collapse, other countries such as Venezuela and China go on as one reads, "The two countries signed 12 accords today at a ceremony at China's Great Hall of the People in central Beijing. The agreements cover trade, energy, infrastructure, communications, education and culture."

I wish our country were engaging with others in these areas instead of trying to prevent an all out collapse of this country’s economy.  Because of this economic mess, little will be left for our infrastructure, our communications, our education and yes culture.  Our culture will be a survivalist culture for some time to come.

As I wind up this piece, McCain should head to Mississippi to debate Barack Obama since he has no added value in any proceedings that take place today.  In fact the market is headed south. When some on the news yesterday saw McCain coming in to save the day, his actions further endangered all of us.  You may as well go and debate Barack Obama, McCain.  Besides $5 million was spent to prepare for that debate.  I wonder who will get socked with that bill.

You must first listen, understand, and then act.

Dispute resolution always starts with “Effective listening”. The other party must at least think you are listening and understanding them.

None of the Democrats have figured this out and have been lousy negotiators during this crisis.

All they want to do is argue and blame.

Send those children back home to mommy not to congress.

Do You Believe EVERYTHING You Hear, Mary?

Come on. This is a complete joke that you would actually believe Dodd, Frank, Reid and all of the other lying, self-serving liberals in Washington, Mary. Just because you are a liberal, does not constitute believing everything that spews out of their conniving mouths.

I'll tell you the TRUTH about what happened. Reid and others ASKED McCain to come to Washington, stating that they could not possibly make a decision without him heading the Republican side of the decision. Once he got there, they also wanted Obama there -- as a matter of fact, McCain invited Obama to come along with him, since this is supposed to be a bipartisan (yeah, right) bill. You want to talk about photo opps? Ha! They deliberately CHOSE Obama to represent them (as a publicity stunt), so he stood up -- and blew the whole opportunity. He had to be BRIEFED on what was going on, in the first place!

When the Republicans called his bluff, he lost it, as did many of the other whiny liberals in Congress, who stomped their feet and cried, when it didn't go their way. Compromise? What is compromise? They wouldn't know what compromise was, if it looked them in the face.

Instead, they decided to take revenge against McCain, by stating to the beloved biased media outlets (who are now running with it, lie or not) that McCain wasn't needed there, in the first place...lol. Likely story. I can see right through them.

It's more like those idiots must have thought that McCain was going to be a pushover and that he was going to go along with any idea that they wanted. They even tried to make it seem like McCain didn't put a word in! Let's just say that he probably did and they didn't like what they heard. Like the bunch of spoiled little babies they are, the liberals were acting like they had their candy taken away from them. The "deal" they told the media was made, was NEVER made. They lied in an effort to play politics.

The plan that Obama's favorite organization, ACORN made, had failed starting with Clinton and ending with Obama (their favorite shyster lawyer) -- and now, they don't know what to do with themselves! A majority of the homes that were financed to those who couldn't really afford them, are now amongst the homes that are being short-saled, foreclosed upon or boarded up. Suddenly, all of the representatives that McCain was "reaching across the aisle" in order to resolve all of the important issues with, are stabbing him in the back, because they would never come out and admit that they made a mistake by allowing for this to happen. If I were McCain, I would expose them for the liars and cheaters that they are!

Frank Raines and Jim Smith both need to be charged with embezzlement and fraud. They belong in the slammer. Dodd, Frank, Paulson, Schumer, Pelosi, Reid; the whole SLEW of them need to be exposed and made to resign, due to their traitorous and manipulative actions on the relevant issues of the finance, our soldiers in the war (Murtha, included), economy and energy. Those who were involved in the Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac embezzlement (Raines), conflict-of-interest (Frank) and bribery (Dodd) need to be charged with such and should receive the same treatment as anyone else who committed those crimes. They should all be put under oath in the court-of-law and under the risk of perjury, to show just what criminals they really are.

Those thugs need to come to grips with the fact that allowing people to obtain mortgage loans based solely on public assistance and unemployment as "steady income", as well as using false credentials on mortgage applications was their downfall. Despite what you believe, that is what led to the crisis with the real estate industry. Instead of pointing fingers and playing the blame game, they need to take responsibility for their own actions.

So now that all of the damage is done, what restitution will the likes of Dodd, Frank, Schumer and all of the other scum, pay the victims of the subprime mortgage scheme?

Politically, I lean Libertarian. When discussing issues, I will slam Dems and/or Republicans.

Now, when it comes to really irritating me, just make an unfounded charge; I will call out whomever makes the charge if there are no facts to back it up! Another version of this is when I see something that is just plainly silly/ridiculous.

An example could be something stated which could be very easily disproved. Another example, and I see this frequently: Rather tha...

Lisa, With respect...

McCain went to DC for a host of reasons... One was to have the ability to create an ad like this:

Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and John McCain are Senators.  While they are running for President, only one candidate never forgot that his job, to represent the people of his state, was his first priority.  The OTHER two found their number 1 priority was to convince people they were better suited to represent the people of this nation.  John McCain has proven that he puts representing us above representing himself.

I'm John McCain and I approve this message....

I would suggest you not spew the Rush Limbaugh/Sean Hannity lines verbatim, that is like copy and pasting lines from the Daily Kos...

Now, JUNIOR Senator, Barack Obama, suggesting that he can take a leadership role in negotiations on the phone is just outright laughable.  I know most people on this site will believe him, because they believe everything he says, but most people across this nation will do exactly what I did when I saw him speaking on CNN last night...  LAUGH...

tonight they are having a debate after all..  I will admit, I was wrong when I predicted that they would delay it based on reports I read Wednesday evening, but we can't all be right all the time..

I am thinking that this will be a debate between tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber..  Nobody should have high hopes that someone will look good this evening...  I am willing to bet, however, that there will be great spin to sugget that Obama was THE MAN, on CNN and NBC, and on FOX, there will be the lines "John McCain is THE MAN!"

We all know who is in the can for whom, and this should be re-named "The Great Comedy Debate!"  Oh, if Obama does particularly bad, I am putting money on seein a crying Chris Matthews tonight!

Ciao, CZ

The Traitors

Those supporting the bail out are traitors.  Any bank or institution that fails can go into bankruptcy proceedings, continue operations while the court protects them from their creditors and sells off assets to pay their debts to the creditors, and reorganizes them so they can  operate in a healthier manner.

If we need to make loans, we need not borrow it, the government can create it's own money.  Why do people trust bankers to create their money and not government.  You need both, but it is not like the bankers have exactly earned our trust with their stellar performance to have a monopoly.

I mean, JP Morgan just got WAMU with 500 billion in assets for 2 billion after the Fed shut them down.  Bear Stears was also a great steal.  BOA got Merrill Lynch.  Barclays got Lehman Bros.   All of Goldman Sachs competitors are getting eaten up.  Paulson wants 700 billion as Goldmans Sachs gets made a Bank Holding Company and becomes part of the Fed.  Buffet then invests 5 billion into Goldman Sachs and screams for the bail out.  Paulson of course made over 700 million while with Goldman Sachs CEO, who profited from the sub-prime crisis, and likely will return to Wall Street in January.

This is nothing more than financial terrorism, and Obama and the Dems, not to mention Bush & co are supporting the terrorists.  The bail out will be the end of the dollar as the worlds reserve currency, and this will mean we end up defaulting on our debt. It will first bring double digit interest rates and inflation as that 700 billion will allow 7 trillion to be created.  And the economic aftermath will be a Great Depression since the economy is credit starved at the bottom, and millions will lose their homes since many hold ARMs (prime or subprime) that were recommended by Greenspan.

Treason can only be popularized if none dare call it treason.
