When you go to college, you will make a lot of mistakes. College is a learning experience. You may at some point be taken to the emergency room, pass out in a stranger's house, puke in the shower, or maybe sleep with one too many people. When you make one of these mistakes, it's a good story. However, once you make it time and time again, you may become the butt of jokes, and your reputation may be ruined.

This can even impact your shot at dating. Your reputation may be easily ruined, if you get around. This is especially true for women who may be labeled, and stories and gossip spread about their last night's fling.

Unfortunately for you, college is only 4 years. Then if you have tarnished your reputation even only once, it may be extremely difficult to repair it in your circle of friends. This holds true even throughout the entirety of the campus.

To repair your reputation is hard. One option that may work is to become totally straight edge, and hold back the vodka for a few weekends. Even that may not do any good.

However, with today's technology, you can now hack your reputation and bypass what anyone knows about you. It's hitting colleges across the country. It's called Tinder. Tinder, as you probably know, allows you to set your radius of potential matches in the area. On Tinder, you c an swipe right if you like the person or swipe left to simply pass. Once two people like one another, they are put into a private chat. From there the hacking begins. If you go to a large enough university where everyone may not know your ruined reputation, meeting potential matches may work. If you are highly intertwined in the university for example, Greek life, that may still be an issue. You may have to venture outside your campus. However, as mentioned before, the radius allows you to meet potential matches away from your campus where they have no idea who you are or any of your past experiences.

Have you been restrained by your reputation in the past? If you believe your reputation at school is not a good representation of who you are, download the app and start tindering. You do not have to bring your past into your future. What are you waiting for?

*I do not work for Tinder. This is an opinion piece based off observing my friends who have used Tinder for this very purpose.
