...so I will just let you know of an on-line live recording of the Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland, narrated by the late Paul Newman, with the St. Louis Symphony made in Carnegie Hall.

Even should you not care for classical orchestral music this piece, just 15 minutes long, has a directness of Lincoln's words coupled with a solemnity and sonority of music that bring me to tears every time. And why?

The combination reminds me of why the upcoming national election on November 4 is so important. Yes, we heard in 2000 that Bush/Cheney just can't win. We heard the same in 2004: they just can't win.

Now in 2008 we've seen what eight years of GOPer junta rule has brought to our country.

McCain is a 72-year old man with a history of cancer, a mind wanting to re-fight a jungle war of his youth by transferring it to the desserts of the Middle East.

He has chosen a candidate for vice-president who has lead a sheltered, experience-free life in Alaska honing wildlife skills that are irrelevant should she assume the position of replacement president.

Only an overwhelming number of Obama/Biden marked and accurately counted ballots can prevent the McCain/Palin combination from stealing another election in the USA.

This must not be another close vote, this must be the largest Democratic majority vote in history.

But you must be registered to vote at your address and you must follow through with that vote on November 4, 2008.

Every state is different and many have deadlines coming up by October 6.

Because your life won't wait, don't wait to register.
Pass it on!
