Pulling three more votes than needed, the bill was passed, 219-212, with over 30 Democrats opposing it. One republican observed that opposition to the bill was "bi-partisan."

Republicans launched into an attack on the bill, claiming it was a major step FOR abortion, that it left loopholes open. At the same time, N.O.W.-- National Organization for Women-- issued a press release criticizing the bill as a step backwards.

Senior Republicans, before the bill, described it as a horror, a travesty against American history...

Reconciliation Passed 220 to 211 with 33 democrats voting against.

Next, the reconciliation moves to the senate.

Fox has begun a narrative that this shows the President ignored the will of the people, that this is further evidence of the government taking over everything, of government, Democratic arrogance, including the student loan program, included in reconciliation-- never mentioning that it will save billions that can be used to help more students.

A few declarations.
-While I'm registered as a Democrat, I consider myself to be a dynamic critic of the Democratic party, just as, well, not quite as much, but almost as much as I am a critic of republicans.

-My articles express my personal opinion, not the opinion of this website.
