Dear Mr. President-elect

You have been a highlight on the political scene for years now, to those of us who have paid attention. To me, you have been a brilliant speaker, a wonderful husband and family man and an all round good guy. You gave America HOPE for Unification and peace and diplomacy that we have rarely seen in my lifetime.
While many of your supporters have already found flaw in your cabinet, I , for one, saw the re-cycled Clintonians as a restructuring of a sound economy. However, the GATES decision left, even me, in a state of quandary.

In light of the Mumbai tragedy and Gates decision to post troops here, etc...well, this is too much a Bush approach to peace. Do you intend to pull us out of Iraq or are you another Neocon-artist bent on the world domination that has consumed the White House in the last  8 years?

Do you intend to make the Bush Mafia pay for ANY of their despicable crimes against humanity? Do you intend to get to the Bottom of 911? Do you intend to actually work for the truth that we, the people of America so desparately need?

I campaigned for you heavily in this former red state (Colorado) and my friends and neighbors did the same. Some of them were former bigots and Bush voters and yet the change you promised was so.... well, Promising, that this communiity rallied behind you.

We are tired of Neocon philosophies and war-mongering. We are tired of losing our brave troops in an illegal impossible war.
We want change and we want you to bring that about, Please.

Wouldn't Colin Powell have been a better choice than Gates? Was he busy? Even Bill Gates would seem a better choice for America. Even I would have been a better choice, methinks. Please rethink this appointment and the war and 9/11 and letting Bush/Cheney, et al, just slither away without retribution.

We need change and we need Hope and we voted for you all over America because we trusted you to bring these things about. Please do.

Ask your beautiful wife for advice. Surely, she sees that there should be total change from the current approach?

Thank you, or whomever may be reading this, for your consideration. I remain Hopeful and supportive for the most part, but I was certainly not expecting to feel disappointed before you were even sworn in!

As always, my prayers are with you and your family and the new cabinet....but Gates? God help us!

Respectfully, Suzi Campbell
