High Regard?

Do you really hold the Dems in high regard? Enough to vote for them?

The answer for most readers here will be: "Well, I like the Dems a lot better than the Repubs, and I sure like Obama better than McCain. So I'll vote for Obama in the fall."

And I query back: Are you sure you are making the best use of your vote?

Consider--there are only a few states that are really "in play" in the coming election. According to the great site , electoral-vote.com, these include: Florida, Virginia, Missouri, perhaps Pennsylvania and Ohio. And if you live in one of those states, and you don't like McCain, you had better vote for Obama. And get your friends and neighbors to vote for him too.

But now let me address my comments to those of us in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland; also Arizona, Alabama, Texas. All of us--I include myself, 'cause I live in Maryland --know already in whose column our states will wind up. And Obama
and McCain know too. Do you expect either of them to campaign in Boston? or in San Francisco? or in Dallas? or Tucson?

I suggest--again, addressing those living in Safe States--that it is far better to vote against the Duopoly which rule, and ruin, our politics, and hence our lives. What a great thing it would be if 10% of the vote in California and Massachusetts went to Cynthia McKinney, if 10% of the
vote in Arizona went to Bob Barr, if 10% of the vote in Connecticut went to Ron Paul. It could happen, if voters in Safe States woke up to their opportunities and decided to let their votes speak for them.

No, neither McKinney nor Barr nor Nader nor Paul will become president. But if you live in a Safe State, neither Barack or John will become president BECAUSE OF YOUR VOTE! So you have the freedom to use your vote usefully. Use this freedom!
