The robin doesn't sing because it's happy ~ it's happy because it sings: Allen L Roland
Singing your song means celebrating who you are with enthusiasm, joy and purpose ~ regardless of the risks.
I've always wanted to make a difference, to share my truth and have it hit a chord that resonates with the world ~ and in many ways I am doing just that with my books, radio show, daily weblog and website which has reached over a million people in over 100 different countries.
I've always wanted to just be myself, as outrageous as thatmight be , and know that it was not only enough but beautiful ~ and I do that every day as a therapist and Online columnist and blogger.
I've always wanted to write from my heart , whether poetryor prose, and have it resonate not only deep within myself but touch countless others ~ and I do that every day as an author and columnist.
I've always lived on the edge and been a little crazy in living my dreams ~ completely trusting and having faith in myself ~ starting with being a fighter pilot, a stockbroker and eventually a therapist and writer as I am now.
I am sohappy I found the courage to say YES to myself, to sing my own authentic song, to share my truth and to know the joy and happiness of these words;
The robin doesn't sing because its happy ~
It's happy because it sings !
I posted the following prose poem in June 2003 and decided to share it with you ~ for to fully live your dreams you must be willing to take risks, to overcome fear and to be alittle crazy.
Here's to the Crazy Ones
Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelievethem, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work ofart?
Or sit in silence and hear a song or write a poem or story that's never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
Or look at nature and see the wonder of a loving plan in action.
While some see them as the crazy ones, others see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to thinkthey can change the world ~ are often the ones who do.
