US is rejoicing. Osama Bin Ladin has been killed. The President together with his staff watched the actual operation live on the TV. I am not sure they saw the actual killing but the scene where they all were watching was shown to us and that was grotesque. How can a person describe it? Forced happiness? Developed perception? Malicious satisfaction? One thing was clear though- it certainly did not look like an accomplishment to them. US is rejoicing and the media is howling. But those faces do not lie. They would prefer to be elsewhere.
We here are close to another anniversary though. It is the anniversary of the Victory over Hitler's Germany. The 66th anniversary of the Day of Capitulation. That day, May 9th for some strange reason is not recognized anywhere but in the country which won that war- Russia. They are preparing to celebrate. It is the day of their glory.
The vehement glorification of the Navy Seals team by the US media which went into Pakistan in two helicopters (one managed to get damaged in process) and apparently got into the compound Osama occupied ( I am not a good military but even one person with stinger could easily take them out; so I guess there were none) reminds me of another raid, the one that took place in July 1941, right after 170 German divisions and 30 divisions of their allies attacked Russia. That was a raid of the special Russian air force unit to bomb Berlin. Whoever had watched the movie Pearl Harbor will remember the mission of the US pilots to bomb Japan after the Japanese attack. Now, history records that the Japanese attack armada was at sea for two weeks before reaching the striking distance from Hawaii, so the US had plenty of time to intercept the impeding attack. In July 1941 Russia was already attacked and not by some group of planes but by 4mln soldiers. In a symbolic gesture of defiance the Russian Air Force chose the volunteers to fly six elite bombers and drop the bombs on Berlin without much of a chance of returning or survival. There was not enough fuel and they had very limited ammo. After the mission was accomplished some of the planes were shot down and one fell down in Finland and the pilots were captured by the Finns. Two returned home. There was no rejoicing. It was a routine job and they had a big war in front of them. I am not sure any of them survived.
Plutarch in his historical essays about Ancient Greece makes a note about the end of times for Sparta when Spartans began to celebrate their own victories even in small skirmishes. "That,' says he, "is the clear indicator of how weak Sparta had become because in the times of its glory Spartans considered victories as routine events.' Russia did not make hysterics of Stalingrad or Kursk victories. They saluted the glory of warriors and moved further on. Only on the final day, May 9th 1945 a spontaneous celebration burst out on the streets. People celebrated Peace. They deserved it. What do we deserve?
One of the most malicious, most abominable lies of our times is the current effort by a huge group of pundits to equalize communism and Nazism. On the Russian TV itself a showman asks two people, "Who was worse, Hitler or Stalin?' And those two ( both are Jewish ) answer, 'Stalin.' That turns the Russian victory in WWII into a cruel joke; two man-eaters were eating each other while their constituents stupidly died for them. All 27 million Russians and 10 million Germans were just sheep according to that theory while the great Western democracies were somewhere up in the city on the Hill, winning that war for them. That's how it is interpreted now. That's what the people know and when they now celebrate an assassination of ONE man far away they equate him to Hitler and Stalin at the same time. I heard that myself. And that is a lie.
Western democracies were the main pushers for Hitler to come to power and direct his military machine at the East. To lubricate that machine they sacrificed the lives of millions of people on their, western side, they let the Jewish population to be exterminated, they looked sideways in 1938 when Jews of Vienna were pulled out to the streets to clean them with toothbrushes, they left minorities and Roma people to be burned in gas chambers, they criminally surrendered territories to Hitler in 1936, 1938, 1940 and they deliberately and with malice let Russia bleed nearly to death in the most horrible confrontation with the super-powerful German army. Western so-called enlightened leaders behaved like cowards and malicious bastards in 1938 in Munich and further on in a "strange war'. During the whole period between 1941 and 1944 Russia alone had to practically eliminate the best and most powerful German forces up to the African Corps ( after their defeat at El- Alamein the remnants of the Rommel Corps was redirected to the Eastern Front), so that on the famed D- Day Germany had in France about 37 combat divisions, a minuscule force, about three times smaller than the invading Allies had at that time. Russia in its unbelievable feat fought for the lives of all of us and Communism, take it or leave it, was the only positive force which made it possible to prevail. The banners with the Hammer and a Sickle were in the hands of the BEST PEOPLE ON EARTH at that time, no matter what kind of a guy was sitting in the Kremlin. I wrote about that before and I repeat here: the level of goodness of the effort of the Russian people was so high, that in its biblical tide it picked even such a person like Stalin and made him a promoter of that goodness. To compare Hitler and Stalin now is not just abominable. It is evil. It is a sin against the Holy Spirit of Victory.
Malice had not gone away from the West as we can see again and again. Even now we do not congratulate the Russian nation, even now we do not celebrate on the Victory day. As those decadent Spartans we dance and celebrate the distant killing of ONE man whom we designated as enemy and about whom we know mostly nothing. On 9/11 we were wounded but since that time our behavior resembles a seizure rather than a recoup. We just can't stand the idea that someone could hurt us so much. We consider it a privilege of ours- to instill pain on others.
In the most cruel of all wars Russian forces were ruthless and in many times -- merciless. But never ever people celebrated a destruction of the German city or burning down of the German fields. They celebrated liberation. They celebrated everything which could lead to closer peace. They celebrated life, not death. How come then, among all those sacrifices they could do that and we here celebrate death and laugh hysterically at more and more corpses. Don't we understand that the bell tolls to thee?
There is no glory or honor in deadly attacking one man on the territory of the country friendly to us. There is no glory in killing members of his family, There is no happiness in the fact that the last witnesses who could tell us all in the open court about the abominable mystery of 9/11 are dead. There is no satisfaction in the malicious set of events when tortures instilled by lawlessness resulted in total lack of evidence and death of the people. There is no justice if there was no trial. There is no closure; just heaps of dead and stench of lies. There's nothing to celebrate; we better mourn the death of the truth.
In 1941-1945 the Russians had defeated the forces of death for us all to live. That puts a tremendous responsibility on us; we must not squander that charge of goodness those 27 million Russian people ( and 23mln more in the whole world) had generated when they died for us. Malice is a crime. When we behave like evil children, when we celebrate death, when we exhibit evil joy instead of reflection and proper somberness, when we laugh like clowns at the unlawfulness of our own choosing, when we kill millions and do not give a damn, when we don't care for anyone but our own stupid asses- we bring that evil force back big time. By doing that we stop being the God's children and surrender our souls and destinies to Satan. That's the choice we all have to make. Millions of eyes are looking at us from Heaven and they watch. They watch very closely. There is nowhere to hide.
