candles and ferns

Dappled with joy and pain were the times

As this long life, meandering, grew

Finally the evening has come

And something is showing through

Many years throw their shadows long

Across the forests of my life

Nearby the leaves still glow green-gold

But in the blue of distance is a new light

Blue-purple dims ever deeper into dark

So slides the color of the sky

Soon night's mystery will take hold

So we grow old, but what care I?

When I was young I journeyed once

And flew into a cloud of white

Past the dark tunnel all travel through

Where death's door sits just out of sight

It is approaching yet again

Again my soul will see the other side

It is not something I deeply fear

For a better land does there hide

Darker into the still sweet night

Beyond what mortal eyes can see

Advances my soul to seek a different light

Let me return to that land so free

If many humans should travel there soon

To that land so subtle and bright

I will not mourn but know they now fly

In that vaster space beyond the night

And I will soon join them as we all will

For this life is contained within that realm

This life has more limited dimensions

There you ride a light ship at the helm

If your subtle vibratory body is light

And your soul not weighed down but is free

You will fly when you let go of the 3D body

I know it happened to me

Then telepathically I heard the words

"You must go down to the earth once more"

With no sound in my head that message I heard

My heart was heavy, I wanted no more

The color around me now was vibrant gold-green

Down I travelled, down like lightening

To earth below which was a soul need

To earth, dull and dense and frightening

I donned the heavy earth vibration

Loathsome after flying in the light

Determined to work off my earth karma

Until my soul be right

I am a hippy that never dropped out. I have held on to impossible idealism and will not give up. I think the human race is a ticking time bomb and we are at the last tick. So what is the good of slow careful pragmatism that allows time for it all to (more...)
