There's no denying it: alternative fuel is the hot topic among the automotive industry these days. The unpredictable price, dwindling supply, and harmful environmental effects of petroleum-based oil have people all over the world searching for a new way to propel humankind into the future.

Electricity is one; although electric cars have been poorly-received by the driving public in the past, new technology is developing to allow electric cars to be faster and able to go farther on a single charge. However, the price of such technology still puts it out-of-reach for the average American. Hybrid cars, a car that mixes gasoline and electric power, is a good way to cut down on the overall consumption of gas without the drawbacks of a fully-electric car, but they still need petroleum-based oil to operate.
