Eleventh Hour Appeal for Donations

We have received $3352 so far in our fundraising effort for our Supreme Court appearance March 10th. in Tallahassee.  We still need $1500 by Tomorrow, Friday, February 20th to match a $5000 challenge grant form a generous donor.  Thank you in advance for your help.

• MANDATORY AUDITS of machine counts of paper ballots are critical to the accuracy of future elections:

• SAFE has been summoned once again to the Florida Supreme Court to present oral arguments March 10th, 2009 in our appeal to reinstate our County charter amendment for paper ballots and mandatory audits, which was passed overwhelmingly by Sarasota County voters in November, 2006 and overturned by Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent and Secretary of State Kurt Browning in 2007.  Now we have paper ballots but no meaningful audits to verify the accuracy of machine counts.  This second hearing before the Supreme Court is unusual, but a tribute to the importance of our case.  Our county charter amendment must prevail to lead the way to statewide election reform.

• PLEASE CONTRIBUTE online at or by check to SAFE, P.O. Box 163, Venice, FL 34284.  We must raise $10,000 for our legal effort by February 20th, and we need to match a $5,000 challenge grant to do so.

Thank you for perseverance with us in this historic effort for the rights of voters to accurate elections.
