ALERT: A McCain Ad Beyond Rove's Conjuring

A McCain ad that just reeks fetid beyond anything Rove could conjure.

John McCain is airing a new ad entitled "Tiny,"- which he "approved"- and that is airing in a number of battleground states. Via this ad, the Arizona senator has shown himself to be a total sleaze ball who makes Karl Rove worthy of beatification. First, view the ad. After you have, return to this email to learn specifically what Barack Obama actually said.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhH2q6h7_Ow  (Might have to cut/paste to your browser)

Here's the transcript of the ad: "Iran. Radical Islamic government. Known sponsors of terrorism. Developing nuclear capabilities to "-generate power' but threatening to eliminate Israel.

"Obama says Iran is a "-tiny' country, "-doesn't pose a serious threat,'"- The ad then proceeds, "Terrorism, destroying Israel, those aren't "-serious threats'? Obama "" dangerously unprepared to be president."-

Now here's the full YouTube video of what Senator Obama said on May 18th in Pendleton, Oregon:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew5qP2oPdtQ  (Might have to cut/paste to your browser)

And here's the transcript: "Strong countries and strong presidents talk to their adversaries. That's what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That's what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That's what Nixon did with Mao. I mean, think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela "" tiny, compared to the Soviet Union. [Emphasis mine] They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet, we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying, "-We're going to wipe you off the planet.'

"And ultimately, that direct engagement led to a series of measures that helped prevent nuclear war, and over time, allowed the kind of opening that brought down the Berlin Wall."- Senator Obama goes on, "Now, that has to be the kind of approach we take. You know, Iran, they spend one-one hundredth of what we spend on the military. If Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn't stand a chance. And we should use that position of strength that we have, to be bold enough to go ahead and listen. That doesn't mean we agree with them on everything. We might not compromise on any issues, but at least we should find out other areas of potential common interest, and we can reduce some of the tensions that have caused us so many problems around the world."-

The McCain ad is a deliberately cut-and-paste lie. And John McCain is the very worst type of liar for engaging it. Please . . . your friends, associates, relatives may only get McCain's cut-and-paste version, and thereby find all the completely distorted impressions they have formed to this point further reinforced. Pass along the entirety of this email. Scurrilous is scurrilous, but this, this . . . I don't have a vocabulary sufficiently foul to describe it.

Get used to it

I hate to say this, but that is Politics 101. Starting with the 2000 elections the Republican Party and their private sponsors have slandered and denigrated the Democrat Party ad nauseum. The response from the Democrat Party has been to ignore and scoff at these ads. It used to be the opposite. In 1964 Johnson aired an ad of a little girl in a glen pulling petals off of a flower. As she did so, she counted, and when she got to the last petal a nuclear bomb exploded in the background. The implication was simple: vote for Goldwater and you vote for nuclear war. That ad aired once. ONLY ONCE. Yet, it’s the only ad anyone remembers from that entire campaign and it aired only once.

The Swiftkids are gonna take this ugly cut-and-paste ad and times it by 1,000. If you haven’t seen their ads yet, you’re in for a big surprise. Swiftboaters did a number on Kerry last time. Fortunately, he didn’t call their bluff until it was too late (I’m being facetious here). The Swiftkids are about to make those ads look like kindergarten toys. Get ready for U-G-L-Y. My prediction is that Obama, like Kerry, will not fight back until it is too late.

The progressives will mount a huge campaign to expose these ads, and all the progressives that listen to other progressives will agree with them. Unfortunately, there is a large majority out there that not only DOESN’T listen to progressives, they can’t even spell the name. Those are the people who will vote. They will vote for McCain in large part due to those ads. The progressives will lose again, just like in 04, and will go back to their minigroups saying, “We lost, but we fought the good fight.”

I for one am friggin’ tired of hearing “We lost, but we fought the good fight.” Who even cares who fought the good fight?? Losers are losers, plain and simple. I’m finding progressives to be more and more like the winners of a losing battle. They make you feel good about what you did while the winners go out that and rape your country blind. I no longer want to associate myself with winners of a losing battle. There’s absolutely nothing good about losing.

You are not alone.

I've said time and again that we need to be vicious.  Fuck Mr. Nice guy.  The Dem's should have been foaming at the mouth and going for blood at every opportunity they have had during the last eight years!!!  I'm talking about destroying people's lives, ruining marriages, ending careers, broadcasting every single allegation possible during any situation that lends itself, filling the court dockets with the opposition, flooding the airwaves with voting records and sound bites, hitting back so hard that you don't get hit again...

Where's the rich Democrat Loyalists who can rent billboards and buy up air time?  Where's the creepy college students who know how to put Rove to shame with their own brand of questionable guerilla tactics?

Let's rock!

John Little has it right, andhe may be the only one who does

John Little included in his provocative response the following sentence: “We lost, but we fought the good fight.” He also observes how he is sick of fighting the good fight and losing.

That reminded me of the advice Jim Malone, Sean Connery’s character in the 1987 movie “The Untouchables” gave to Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner): “They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the ‘Chicago way!’”

And in that same movie, Al Capone said this about winning: “You wait until the fight is over, one guy is left standing. And that’s how you know who won.”

What I am NOT suggesting is for the Obama campaign to fight dirty or sleazy; do NOT make up one damned thing about McCain. No one has to. But the Arizona senator has a trail of marital infidelity, deceit, lies, lies, lies and more lies, repeated blunders about who’s doing what to whom in the mid-East, blunders about Constitutional law and cases, and a voting record (Missed 59.2% of all votes, more than any other senator!) AGAINST the active military and veterans. The list goes on, and on and on.

I live in Reno. I’ve approached the campaign to see how I could volunteer, “How can I help?”

The composition of the staff is typical, I’m advised, of most, if not all, around the country: kids between the ages of 18 and 25! They’re bright-eyed, enthusiastic, and as idealistic as you’d ever want. Which being overly idealistic, in my book, is deadly. They’re what the campaign has. And if you think about it, who else can Obama get who can be moved from one geography to another, like chess pieces, for the pennies they’re being paid?

Nonetheless, they are kids. They think they know what they are doing and why. But they can’t guess the first letter of the first clue, not the way John Little and others our age can. It’s not carved in their bones. It’s not in their DNA. When I mentioned to one of the paid staff that I was a veteran, that vats across the land are just really pissed at the way McCain has treated today’s current crop, and that we wanted to kick ass, he said, “I’m not going to do anything that will jeopardize my career.”

“Career?” I asked. “Career,” indeed. In 1964 I volunteered to join the army. I volunteered for Vietnam. I was in the 7th Cav. More than 58,000 lost their lives, another couple hundred thousand were mutilated, and one-third of all homelss in America are Vietnam veterans, brains scrambled from the unrelentless fears that followed them every waking moment and the drugs that got them through the nights.

Furthermore, I was born and raised in the Detroit area. My father was an engineer for Ford, in Dearborn. The fathers of my schoolmates worked in the iron mills and in the stamping plants and on the assembly lines; ALL GONE now! But you know what? Chrysler, American Motors, Great Lakes Steel, K-Mart (once sat at the very top of the retail industry), RCA, The Detroit Times, The Detroit News, and hundreds and hundreds more major companies that are no longer around, or not around except in mere ghostly shadows of themselves, all had CEOs and top level execs and managers who all claimed “We know what we’re doing.”

Know what you’re doing? Oh go fuck yourselves. You don’t know shit!

And this little dumb-ass son-of-a-bitch is worried about his career? Whose agonized death cry has he heard, the soldier whose legs have been blown off, or whose bloody guts are spilled like a sausage links across the front of his fatigues, or whose face has been so badly burned that no woman or child will ever look at him without reeling in understandable repulsion? How many little children, how many mothers, how many old men and women has he seen lying dead as a result of a fire-fight gone out of control, or as a consequence of a soldier gone over the edge because of the overwhelming psychological pressures, pressures this snotty-nosed little shit will never be able to imagine? THAT is not fucking “collateral damage”! Those are innocent human beings you just killed!

In the army, and likely the marines as well, the single most dangerous person you were ever likely to encounter was a second lieutenant fresh on the scene; much more lethal than Charlie or one of the NVA. It’s the why of “fragging.”

Going into combat, for any reason or with legitimate justification, is no mother-fuckin’ video game, but video games are all they know. But what about the utter bull-shit of going in for the 100% wrong reasons: for lies, lies, lies?

John McCain never, ever looked, or even searched, for the man he was intent on killing; never ever saw the man’s face, or his lifeless body after he’d let loose rounds from his M-16.

So yeah . . . God damn it! John Little has it right: I want to fight, I want to fight honorably, but make no mistake, I want to kick the living shit out of that lying sack of excreta from Arizona. I am so fucking sick of losing, and witnessing the terrible consequences. And having “fought the good fight” just ain’t worth a God damned thing!

I am retired with not enough money saved to counter inflation and being forced back into the work force. I am a vet, (Vietnam era), extremely disappointed with the aggressive, imperialistic direction this country has taken in Iraq, to control and usurp it's oil, and the extent to which BOTH parties are complicit.

Iran might be a terrorist sponsoring country

but so are not we with "collateral damage" rationale. How exciting to be living in a time when the USA would not only CONDONE torture and wire tapping by big brother as well as indefinite detention without habeus corpus, when the opposition party refuses to impeach. Kucinich might be a nerdy little guy, but he and Wexler are the only ones with balls big enough to stand up to our military industrial complex. Certainly my own rep, DelahunT, D-MA, and Olver, D-MA, agreeing with Pelosi and Conyers, won't live up to their vowS to protect and defend the Constitution which DICTATES impeachment when evidence for high crimes, now growing and compelling, have been committed. UnAmerican and unpatriotic, both of them, rubber stamping the administration. How many brave Americans gave the "ultimate sacrifice" as politicians like to say, in past wars to protect us from exactly this type of dictatorship? May they never get re-elected, no matter how important and incumbent and self-aggrandizing they are. Kucinich is right: "WAKE UP, AMERICA". what is the position of your rep on impeachment? Do you agree with them? If they won't listen to you. If they ignore you rather than represent you because they are afraid and leaderless and clueless of where their path is taking us --down the toilet-- then don't be afraid to post it here to get the word out and stay in their face.
