Donald Trump has finally found his true calling: he's the long-awaited racist Messiah.
For the past 50 years, racists have been feeling left out. For its first two centuries, democracy in America was a nonstop orgy of racist misanthropy . Then the Civil Rights Movement came along and wrecked everything.
No sooner had Americans passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 than racism went out of fashion. Lilly-livered politicians began shutting racists out of the political system. Racists couldn't run a candidate. They couldn't tout their cause. Racism was political poison.
The unkindest cut came in 2008 when Americans elected Barack Obama. This was the inevitable outcome of muzzling racist Americans. A once mighty nation had been laid low by democracy run amok.
It only added insult to injury when Americans re-elected Barack Obama in 2012. How could colorblind Americans be so blind? Obama was a pretender . An abomination! A closet Muslim who lacked the birthright to claim the political office he had stolen. It was obvious -- so obvious! -- for those who had eyes to see. Political correctness was hammering the final nails in America's coffin.
There had to be a way out. But what were the options? The Democrats were hopeless. No racist in his right mind could support Hillary Clinton , and Bernie Sanders (God help us!) is a senile socialist. The Party of Lincoln is no better. After the McCain and Romney debacles, mainstream Republicans started pandering to Hispanics. Hispanics!?! What kind of political leadership is that? Putting a Hispanic in the White House is no better than having Obama stay on another term.
The entire political system in America has gone off the rails. There is nowhere for a decent, red-necked racist to turn"
...or is there...
Enter Donald Trump. The 2016 presidential campaign is not The Donald's first rodeo. Trump has been running farcical presidential campaigns since the 1980s. Trump's Achilles Heel has always been his mouth . Every time Trump opens his mouth he lives up to his reputation as an obnoxious racist buffoon . Traditionally, after the first stump speech of each political season Trump supporters have evaporated faster than popsicles in the Mojave. But not in 2016.
Just to be clear, in 2016 Donald Trump remains every bit the obnoxious racist buffoon for which he has become famous . It's just that, in 2016, racist Americans have decided that obnoxious racist buffoonery is what they're hungry for in a presidential candidate.
As a candidate, Trump has not evolved -- admittedly, he has become increasingly orange over the years. It's Trump's supporters who have changed. American racists are fed up with racial harmony . They are tired of standing on the sidelines while people of color and women queue up for a shot at the White House. White racists want to make the White House white again , and they believe that Donald Trump is the right racist for the job.
Even if he doesn't win the Republican nomination, or defeat his Democratic (or Republican?) rivals, Donald Trump will remain a messiah to his followers . Donald Trump has brought racism back into the political mainstream. With Trump as their guide, racists have reemerged from the shadows and reclaimed the political limelight . Trump has re-popularized racist rhetoric and gratuitous racist violence . Donald Trump has proved that it is possible to forge a passionate political movement out of racist ignorance in the 21st century . If his adversaries were honest, they would have to admit that Donald Trump has accomplished far more in 2016 than they ever dreamed possible .
Much like Hitler in the 1930s, Donald Trump is an obnoxious racist who has been repeatedly underestimated by his opponents. Could lightning strike a second time in 2016? One thing is for certain: Donald Trump is a man on a mission, and his racist supporters are determined to follow their messiah all the way to the promised land.
