Don't Celebrate Yet - Martial Law And A Bush/Cheney Coup Is Still A Possibility

Tell A Friend

When the attacks in Mumbai, India occurred, I was instantly struck by the similarity to previous Al Qaeda actions based on their planning, resources, and ability to gain spectacular media coverage. As the so-called evidence begins to unfold, I find it highly suspicious that the United States is pointing their finger at Pakistan - as are the Indians. The “intelligence”, which we know the Bush administration has manipulated in the past, must be placed under the microscope and evaluated by powers other than the United States.

Conspiracy theories abound throughout the Internet, as occurs when anything of this magnitude occurs - and one of the most astounding theories I’ve come across is that Great Britain was actually behind the attacks as published on Alex Jone’s site:

British Intelligence is Behind Mumbai Massacre

Mumbai comes during the last days of the Bush Administration, Lyndon LaRouche said today, in which we are expecting the very worst to strike globally. And the British are also in heat right now. Therefore, you are looking for the very worst at this time. And, because of the Pakistan ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence)/British MI-6 involvement, Mumbai could not have happened at this time, unless the British were involved in it.

“Don’t look at it as coming from a propaganda line, to an action,” LaRouche warned. “The propaganda line may have nothing to do with the action. Don’t look for a propaganda algebra that will give you the key to who’s behind it. In a situation like this, propaganda algebra doesn’t work. The EFFECT does. What is the EFFECT? Who wants the effect?

Now ask: Are they active, for example,– are they active in the region? Are they targetting Iran? Are they targetting a destabilization in Iraq, from the present situation? That’s what you look for. Or another attack on Syria. Why did Ehud Olmert reverse himself when he returned to Israel from the US, to turn around and deny that Washington had warned him against attacking Iran? You aren’t looking for a propaganda line; you are looking for simply an involvement.

Cheney is the bellwether in this. Cheney’s involvement, or his group’s involvement in it. And remember, they’re the same thing as the British. MUCH MORE

This is an article that all should read, and when I first read it, my first thought was “WTF???” Then, I took the time to read-up on Lyndon LaRouche’s track-record for being correct - and if you read it yourself - it’s mind-numbing how often Mr. LaRouche has been correct in his predictions and analysis of several issues that have actually been absolutely correct, and this time, I hope that he’s dead-wrong!

On Op-Ed News, my favorite Liberal/Progressive news and commentary site, several articles are of interest - and I’m listing them by those which I believe are the the most germane to this issue:

Mumbai Attacks: Result of American Destabilization or Indian Discrimination and Violence?

Mumbai Twitter Conspiracy Blues

Both of the articles on Op-Ed News cause the reader to ask themselves what this attack against Mumbai actually means to the global community, and again, the question of “Why Now” and who would benefit from such an attack is a question that needs to be answered - and fast, before Pakistan and India find themselves at war again, which has an extremely strong possibility, if war does break-out, of resulting in a nuclear holocaust. If this was indeed “India’s 911″ as is being suggested by our mainstream new media, there’s no doubt in my mind that the Bush administration would declare a “state of emergency”, declare martial law, and prevent Obama from being able to take his rightful place as President of the United States.

I was openly skeptical of the first article posted on Op-Ed News, and stated so in a comment, promising that I would post my own thoughts on the attack within 24-48 hours. Instead, I began watching CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and other news commentators almost non-stop, and what I’ve witnessed, especially from CNN, is an obvious attempt to link Pakistan to these attacks. This may or may not be true, however, if you spend enough time watching Wolf Blitzer, as I have done, you can see that he is actively attempting lead many of his guests in placing the blame on Pakistan, and even though he has been attempting to be subtle in his manipulations, the intent is obvious. Remember, Wolf Blitzer has a history with AIPAC, and I believe his interests favor Israel, not the United States (IMO):

“Sometime in the mid-1970s, Blitzer also worked for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee as the editor of their monthly in house publication, the Near East Report.[5][6] While at AIPAC, Blitzer’s journalism focused on Middle East affairs as it relates to United States foreign policy. In the mid 1970s, Blitzer also lobbied on behalf of AIPAC to better Israel’s foreign interests.” LINK

Below is what I was initially going to post in regard to these attacks against India, and for the most part, I still believe that Radical Islam is a threat to world peace and stability, but I’ll also admit that some of it was a knee-jerk reaction, probably felt by millions of Americans when we witnessed the carnage that occurred in Mumbai, and our MSM’s spectacular coverage of the attack. My original post is in italics:

“The GOP and Neo-cons have painted the Obama administration, before and after the election as weak on international terrorism. Speaking for myself, an attitude that I believe coincides with President Elect Obama’s stance on terrorism - is not weak, and speaking for myself, when it comes to Radical Islam, my personal views on Radical Islam are more of a “Hawk” rather than a “dove.” As manifested in the carnage and well-planned attack on Mumbai, India, reinforces that stance and substantiates my hawkish view on Radical Islam. Radical Islam is a cancer that threatens world peace, and the targeting of American and British citizen bolsters my views rather than mitigating them; I do place some of the blame on the Bush administration, as he broke his promise to the American people to root out Al Qaeda and the Taliban, promising the people of the United States that terrorists would receive no “safe-haven” anywhere in the world.

Instead of following through with that promise, when both entities were on the run in Tora Bora, Afghanistan was allowed to conduct the mop-up operation with disastrous results, rather than allowing American forces to eradicate the leaders of each organization, he handed-over a vital mop-up operation to the Afghanistan Army who allowed both to escape to the northern tribal regions of Pakistan. Instead of following through with his promise, Al Qaeda and the Taliban were allowed safe-haven in Pakistan and the Bush administration concentrated on the Iraq War for profit rather than eradicating the command and control structure of both groups. Now, Pakistan and the global community is suffering the consequences of that ill-fated decision - and Al Qaeda has effectively re-grouped and are the “cheerleaders” of Radical Islam and their Jihad against anyone that refuses to share their views. The folly of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney have allowed Al Qaeda to increase their influence over similar radical groups - and the constant rhetoric we hear emanating from Pakistan is goading other radical Islamic organizations to continue their war against the global community, plus the destabilizing effect is has proven to be on Pakistan itself; in order to help stem the rise of radical Islam, it is essential that Al Qaeda in Pakistan be eradicated - and the carnage in Pakistan and Mumbai certainly substantiate that belief. In this writer’s opinion, allowing Al Qaeda to continue their constant rhetoric and support of sister organizations is proving to be devastating to the global community - as well as undermining the Pakistan government. To grasp how serious the situation in Pakistan is, please read “Situation In Pakistan Is Much More Complicated Than The MSM Or Bush States.” The situation is Pakistan has dire global consequences which must be addressed by the global community to help stem the rise and influence of Al Qaeda.

I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy, the rule of law, and am absolutely outraged on how the Bush administration is defying our Congress, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights! Footnote: I write in a style that I believe is appropriate in today's world where we can't trust the Mainstream News Media, and rather than concentrating on one article alone, which may or may not receive the exposure and emphasis it should, I prefer to meld several relevant stories together, that each taken alone may not expose the entire situation, but when taken-in as a whole, tend to give the reader a better understanding of the subject. One article or story alone does not represent the "Big Picture" - but when several are effectively tied-together it often reveals a trend or broader view of the subject matter that is important to completely understand any given situation. http://justanothercoverup.com/

Two interesting comments posted on Justanothercoverup

I recently installed a program which was on Omaba's site called "intense Debate" which allow those registered to post their comments instantly without being moderated for spam, language, etc. Further, I have received word from a member of Op-Ed News that they will help in keeping my main site on line- and for that - my thanks are immeasurable:

There are elements inside and outside of Pakistan who don't want Pakistan to be in peace with India. Bhutto was getting close to india, replaced by Zia. Nawaz Shareef was trying to normalize relationships, replaced by Pevaiz Musharraf. Now Zardari has been signalling closer relationships, this thing happens in Mumbai. Britain never wanted Pakistan to have normal relationships with India or why did they create Pakistan? pervaiz Musharraf could be part of this conspiracy!

All this 'give pakistanis another chance' talk is great but please realize that India has been giving 'pakistanis another chance' for the last 50 years at the cost of 1000s of lives. Most people dont realize that the Pak Army and ISI are a state unto themselves hence, regardless of how sincere the so-called 'elected' Pakistani govt. is, it is impotent to do anything useful (it cant even ask the head of ISI to come to India...after publicly announcing that it will do so!). I think the time has come to the tell the Pakistani govt. that either you clean up ISI and your military or we will go in and do it for you period. Simply whining and claiming it is all a conspiracy against Pakistan wont get them anywhere anymore.

Both comments appear to be well-thought out, but again, a nuclear confrontation helps no one except forces that will benefit from a war with Pakistan and India, however, I understand that Radical Islam has infiltrated the Paistant Army, their Parliment, and it's speading across the nation like widfire. Many seem to be lieve the Pakistan army is essentially impotent and unable to effectively curd terrorism in thier own country, as well as that which is exported to other countries. The situation seem to be bleak, and like most of us, I' hoping that cooler heads will prevail.

A Bush/Cheney Coup Is Possible

Since I haven't heard from Lyndon LaRouche after 1983, I thought he was dead. I watched the coverage of the siege on NDTV 18/3. It was realistic and utterly chaotic. Totally unlike the World Trade Center tragedy, they lacked a string of 'witnesses' who mouthed the Administration line.

I can't imagine the Brits being involved in this. They are too class conscious to murder tourists in posh hotels. The Mossad would have notified the Jews in the Chabad House to steer clear that day. The Americans are too much in love with their high tech toys to limit themselves to 300 dead. If a nuclear war begins, it will point directly at the USA. Nobody else hates Pakistan AND India enough to set up a nuclear war between them.

After the attack on Iran failed to materialize, the Republicans rushed to bail out the financial interests before the GOP scuttled the ship of state. As they did not want to get lynched before they left town, they lowered the gas prices. I thought they kept control of the MSM simply to keep from sinking below the radar. However, the estimate of Pakistani A-bombs has risen from 4 to 150 in the past few months.

Bush could attack India with a number of suitcase bombs, blame it on Pakistan and retaliate with the US Navy. He could declare Martial Law. Backed by the US Military patrolling our streets, he could remain POTUS for some time.

THE PROBLEM WITH MARTIAL LAW

Bush probably does not enjoy sufficient support within the military to declare martial law.  Some polls have shown that troops on the ground favor Obama by a 6 to 1 margin, and with the election over, and Bush's popularity so diminished compared to Obama's, an attempt at declaring martial law would be at best a poor gamble.  The military would more likely take its orders from the President-elect, who has historically voted for every bill that strengthened veteran's benefits, and who seeks to restore the power of the American military to its former status.  Bush, on the other hand, has treated the military as if it were an expendable toy, and has stretched the troops to the limits of human endurance.

I believe the military brass looks forward to the leadership of Obama, and the rebuilding of the American military, and would balk at martial law declared by a defeated President.

I hope you're right

When I noted that Bush wants 20,000 troops on the ground in the US for potential attacks, WMD's,, etc., it raises a high level of suspicion to me, however, 20K troops in the US as opposed to 150K in Iraq is only a drop in the bucket; we also have to consider Blackwater, which in my opinion, should be disbanded. It flies against what our military is supposed to accomplish, and undermines our troops by constantly paying more for our special forces troops which the military paid gobs of money to train.

I would never fire upon US troops unless my very life depended on it - but Blackwater - that's a horse of a different color. Mercenaries are just that, and if used against the American public is treason at it's best, and who knows what the worst case scenario would be, as they don't have the oversight and command and control that US troops enjoy, plus little or no accountability. Blackwater needs to go; it sets a precedent that we don't need in what is supposed to be a "Democratic Republic."

Bush/Cheney Coup???

Bill

You've  been predicting martial law since your Blue Lemur/Liberals Only days. You made it very clear that Bush would declare martial law and suspend the elections if it looked like Obama would win.  Surprise....Obama won, we have a Democrat House and Senate and no Martial law.

You also predicted Bush/Cheney would use the military to take over the country, rioting in the streets, water shortages, food shortages ad nauseum.

Don't you think it's time to fade away?  You haven't been right about anything.
