Democrats need to blame themselves in November

Democrats are losing, and while they blame everything in the world, at the end of the day, this was their election to lose.

Corporate America wants what Corporate America wants, but it will get what it wants whomever wins..  this is not in dispute.  What is in dispute, is all of the silliness that has been brought up and thrown against John McCain..  A man who could do no wrong before he started running for president...   A man who is now despised and literally hated...  The best example of this is Charlie Gibson interview with Sarah Palin.

The Charlie Gibson interview of Sarah Palin has been mischaracterized by many people trying to cover for Gibson’s dropping of the ball.  Desperately trying to save face, it is thoroughly impossible for anyone to have seen anything other than Gibson losing control of his own interview.

Palin is much savvier than she was given credit for, and given the way things have been reported, it would appear like she will continue to be underestimated, and will continue to make the people, who try to corner her, look foolish.  Gibson attempted to make her say that she was in favor of making preemptive strikes against enemies , but his original question allowed her to demand that he be very specific.  That demand enabled her to hit a home run with her answer, and it was very clear that Gibson was thrown off stride.  The second problem that Gibson created for himself was when he kept trying to make her change her answer, by repeating his question regarding a “what if,” involving Israel.  Calmly, she repeated her answer.

Continuing to lose ground, Gibson then tried to corner her into saying that she believes that we should go to war with Russia, when, in fact, she turned his question upside down by stating that she would honor any treaty the US signed.  (The Correct Answer)

The one fact that many people fail to realize was that it was obvious to everyone watching that Gibson was trying to destroy her, make her look weak, stupid, and whatever else  that would make people believe she was a disaster of a pick for VP...  He failed so completely, that he made her look much BETTER than she is...

The Media is being bashed, because it has done whatever it could to save face for Charlie Gibson, despite the fact that he made himself look like a fool by not understanding that what the "hockey mom” stated as answer to his questions completely obliterated his attacks.

If Democrats want to make headway against Palin, they really need to stop with the silly attacks, focus on real issues, and demonstrate real solutions to real problems.  Palin, the candidate for VP has offered more in the way of discussion on issues and solutions in two weeks, than Obama, the Presidential candidate has done in 6 months.

This is only one reason why Obama will lose.  In short, he thinks as a senator, which does not require him to think like an executive.  He needs to start thinking like an executive, like someone who is responsible for any answer he gives, or any decision he makes.  He needs to MAKE decisions and stand by them.  He needs to make statements and stand by them.  If he tells one crowd one thing, he needs to tell ALL CROWDS the exact same thing.  That is the only way he will ever walk through the door of 1600 PA avenue as the next commander-in-chief.

The second major reason Obama will lose has to do with the fact that he is now running against Palin, as opposed to McCain...  When has any other presidential Candidate run against a VP?  Bill Clinton ran against George HW Bush, NOT Dan Quail...  Obama has lost all focus.

Now, writing this article, I know there will be people who will be defending Obama’s policy of following whichever direction the wind blows, and this is one of the reasons why Obama will not win in November…  He does not see any errors in what he is doing, and neither does his staff.

 Ciao, CZ

Politically, I lean Libertarian. When discussing issues, I will slam Dems and/or Republicans.

Now, when it comes to really irritating me, just make an unfounded charge; I will call out whomever makes the charge if there are no facts to back it up! Another version of this is when I see something that is just plainly silly/ridiculous.

An example could be something stated which could be very easily disproved. Another example, and I see this frequently: Rather than discuss the issues using facts, I see name calling and general haranguing of those who actually DO use facts and numbers!

NOW, when people read my articles, they will agree with some, disagree with some, and, if they read enough, more than likely, they will be filled with RAGE at some point or other!

However, all of this being said, bear in mind that what I write will have plenty of evidence to back it up.

Ciao, CZ

McCain Is A Sleazy Liar

Comment from Ratings:   John McCain, who would not sell his soul to win his party’s nomination, is ready to sell every piece of his soul to win the presidency.

Political Naivety

If Democrats want to make headway against Palin, they really need to stop with the silly attacks, focus on real issues, and demonstrate real solutions to real problems.

You might think that if you have never observed a presidential campaign in America.  However, the reality is that if Democrats discuss real issues and talk about important concerns of the American people, no one will know.  The media will not report it and instead report on irrelevant topics of style and foolishness.

The fact is that it is the media that ultimately is the 1000 lb. gorilla when it comes to our elections.  They decide what the voter knows about the candidates and what the voters think.  Among the things that this 1000 lb. gorilla does not inform the public about are the other 1000 lb gorillas: the companies that control the vote count.

I'm a lifelong resident of Tennessee. I love my state; I love its people; I do not understand its politics. I've worn many hats ("Tennessee Titans", "Chicago Cubs", "2008, The End of an Error") in my 52 years, the most important of which proclaims, "World's Best Mom."

Ignoring your own "rules?"

Interesting, that an article with not one shred of proof to support nothing more than opinion and supposition, with some mind-reading and prognostication thrown in for dramatic effect, is proffered by one who admits to being irritated by charges made without facts.  Apparently this author holds others to a standard he himself is unwilling to meet.  "Irritating?"  Just plain "silly/ridiculous?"  "Easily disproved?"  You bet!

As a Southern lady, I've never really thought of "clobbering" anybody.  After reading this article, devoid of facts and absent even an iota of proof, I'm thinking I might enjoy "clobbering" a hypocrite, right after I stop berating myself for not having mastered the art of hyperlinking.  Suffice it to say, every opinion stated in this article was easily debunked through a few Google searches, despite the author's assurance that he will back up his writing with "plenty of evidence."  In the infamous words of G.W. Bush, "bring it on."  Bluster doesn't "cut it" and "substantiation" from bloggers will not do.

I want proof that Palin has discussed the issues more in 2 weeks than Obama has in 6 months.  I did not find it.  I want proof that "everyone knows" that Charlie Gibson set out to "destroy Palin."  Again, not found.  Show me a poll which says McCain is less popular now than he was 8 years ago (a Rasmussen poll shows the opposite) or a poll that proves that people "thought he could do no wrong" until now.  One does not exist.

Prove that the allegations against McCain and Palin are mere "silliness."  I suppose what constitutes "silliness" is different for everyone, but is it "silly" to doubt their honesty when they've been caught in so many lies?  Is it "silly" to question Palin's naivete about both foreign and domestic policy.  Is it "silly" to wonder if the allegations about her abuse of power are true?  Is it "silly" to question what a McCain/Palin administration would mean to Americans in general, and women in particular?  Is it "silly" to ponder whether a McCain/Palin administration would mean more wars, or to question how their economic policy will benefit the middle class and the poor?  Help me out here.  I don't want to seem a"silly", middle class housewife from Tennessee for asking these questions.

As for the assertion that Obama "thinks like a senator and not an executive" and that he "needs to make decisions and stand by them", I suggest that same yardstick be applied to John McCain, who knows nothing BUT being a senator and who has changed his position on more issues in this election cycle than in his entire career (Google McCain/immigration, /Roe v Wade, /ethanol, /tax cuts, /offshore drilling, /Social Security, /the Religious Right, /talking to terrorists, etc.)  Finally, the bias in the statement which asserts that Obama "does not see any errors in what he is doing, and neither does his staff" sounds eerily like a talking point from the far Right and not like something that one who is "irritated" by unfounded charges would say.  That might explain why this article represents everything the author claims to abhor about other writers.  It is difficult to back up nonsense and rumors with anything resembling "proof."

except Obama is not running against McCain..

He is running agains Palin..  My facts are the interview...   My facts are Palin's record..  My facts are Obama's record...

How many times did he vote "present" instead of YES OR NO?  That is not thinking like an executive, and that is FACT, not supposition.

Gibson looked like a fool when he tried to paint her into a corner, and utterly failed.  People try to spin it, but the reality is that he looked really bad, and every pundit who spoke about that for the next several hours as much as said so.

So when you ask if I am ignoring my own rules, and you accuse my OPINION to be utterly devoid of fact, I suggest you re-read it, and put it into context with the Gibson interview, Obama's voting record and Palin's record...

Regardless of how you feel about her politics, she made decisions, and she stood by them....  That is fact, not supposition.

I find it hard to believe that the public feels led astray by President Bush for leading us into a war blindsided. Where were you when Bush went to the United Nations for help in finding out if Iraq had WMD's. How many chances did we give Saddam to come clean only to hear over and over again "I need more time, No you can't enter Iraq" How many chances did we give him? If it was up to the Democratic party would we still be waiting?
Where were you when President Bush said enough... w...

Read the Facts

Congress votes  Believe some may have a difficult time swallowing many of these figures.Makes you wonder how many in congress truly represent their constituents.Sorry that more voters don’t track their representatives voting records. These are the raw numbers... Might rub some of you the wrong way, but, Oh well !!!!

So what has congress done about it? Alaska NWR Exploration House Republicans: 91% Supported House Democrats: 86% Opposed

 Coal-to-LiquidHouse Republicans: 97% SupportedHouse Democrats: 78% Opposed

Oil Shale ExplorationHouse Republicans: 90% SupportedHouse Democrats: 86% Opposed

Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) ExplorationHouse Republicans: 81% SupportedHouse Democrats: 83% Opposed(And the Democrats do this as Cuba and China drill for oil barely 50 miles off our shores in South Florida)

Refinery Increased CapacityHouse Republicans: 97% SupportedHouse Democrats: 96% Opposed SUMMARY 91% of House Republicans have historically voted to increase the productionof American-made oil and gas. 86% of House Democrats have historically voted against increasing the production of American-made oil and gas. Over the past 30 years:

Democrats have blocked the development of new sources of petroleum.Democrats have blocked drilling in ANWR.Democrats have blocked drilling off the coast of Florida.Democrats have blocked drilling off of the east coast.Democrats have blocked drilling off of the west coast.Democrats have blocked drilling off the Alaskan coast.

Democrats have blocked building oil refineries.Democrats have blocked clean nuclear energy production.Democrats have blocked clean coal production.

Democrats believe taxing and suing oil companies will somehow bring down gas prices. The Democrats have sold out to radical environmentalists, setting in placeconditions that can bring ruin to this nation. Wonder why your groceries cost more?  Why you are paying $4 and soon $5 agallon for gasoline? Put the blame where it belongs: the Democrats! The American People need to wake up!
