A short while back, I wrote an Op-ed piece, which the people at OpEdOnline were kind enough to publish, called "It's The Big Lie, People!" A few months later, I wrote a follow-up called "It's The Big Lie, Revisited."
Today, The Big Liars Club Welcomes The Donald.
A short while ago, Donald Trump got involved -- way out front -- with a group called "The Birthers." These people started pushing others to believe that President Obama was not an American Citizen and, therefore, was not eligible to be President. Among those in the Birthers was, of course, Sarah Palin.
Donald Trump makes Sarah Palin look like a member of Mensa. After repeatedly alluding to President Obama having not been born an American, today in New Hampshire, he stated that he is honored to have played a part in the President clearing up this controversy, and further misled to the public by suggesting that the reporters were the ones who blew this issue out of proportion.
So far, as Trump tries to insinuate himself into the run for the Republican Party's nomination for President, he has not once given any ideas to the press on what he would do to solve any of the country's problems, be them economic, racial, educational, or anything else.
What Trump has done is to perpetuate the Republican Party's attempts to make President Obama look bad, or block the President from succeeding on any of his initiatives.
To his credit, President Obama has not engaged these anti-American Republicans in dialog. What he has done, however, is address himself to some of their so-called issues, and done so with clarity and honesty. Honesty, mind you, being something the Republicans and Tea Party members, have lost the ability to practice.
Now, Trump is going after the President about his grades, and wondering how he got into Columbia and Harvard. We cannot help wondering if Trump went to college, or where he went, and how good his grades were. Of course Trump would never engage in this so-called discussion by saying "I'll show you mine; you show us yours!"
In other interviews, Trump has even gone so far as to tell the public that he pays people to run his businesses, that he doesn't do it himself. So, how does this qualify him to run our country?
Donald Trump, many years ago, was treated by people and the press as not much more than a clown and I submit, he has once again proven this to be true.
