NO TO NATO, NO TO WAR APRIL 4TH AND 5TH 2009,
STRASBOURG, FRANCE

NATO has become the main vehicle for the United States to
pursue its wars and it is responsible for the devastating
occupation of Afghanistan, where the carnage and destruction
are escalating daily. This summer's fighting in Georgia
showed how NATO's eastward expansion risks yet more wars.

Anti-war and peace movements across Europe have called for
mass protests at NATO's 60th conference in Strasbourg on
April 4/5th next year. The organisers are expecting tens of
thousands to travel to the protests from across the
continent and beyond and VoteStrike.com is
committed to working for the biggest possible turnout.

The protests will start on Thursday 2nd April with the
opening of a counter summit. There will be a day of civil
disobedience
and direct action on Friday 3rd April and a
mass international demonstration on Saturday 4th april.
Sunday 5th April will be the main day of the counter summit
which will be addressed by Noam Chomsky, among many others.

We are asking our supporters to encourage trade unions,
campaigning groups and other organisations to support the
protests and to send delegations.
