Blood Stained Curtains

They pulled off a grand performance
End of the final act drew near
Blood stained curtains close
Can't speak out, bound by fear

We're watching in the distance
The eminent threat no doubt
Take them down, kill them all
In unison we would shout

Then one by one they fell
The enemy and the brave
Stained the red, white and blue
Blood and revenge we crave

No objection to the atrocity
We find out, it wasn't true
Fighting in the wrong land
Killing more than just a few

Set us up, so we wouldn't notice
The slight of hand they pulled
Everyone can be happy now
Most of us were fooled

I went and joined the gold rush
Thinking they'd offer me some
I saw what was happening
But fallowed as though dumb
 
Rape the poor they have it coming
Let them all believe they're rich
The first to go, no one cares
Oblivious to our bait and switch

For the greed and tyranny
Now they claim the prize
Division begins for many
And caught us by surprise

I have to shout out loud
Before anyone else gets maimed
They need to account for their wrongs
Before this entire country's shamed
 
I have seen this show before
Do not pay this theatre twice
I laughed and clapped and took it all in
Watching the actors roll the dice

As the blood stained curtains drew
With the last bow they take it all
Stained our red, white and blue
Once again, we take the fall
