Senators Feinstein and Bennett are the leaders of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration ( http://rules.senate.gov ) which oversees laws concerning elections.

The senators are still working on the Bipartisan Electronic Voting Reform Act that was announced in a press release at
I learned June 16th they are still working on the legislation. So this would be a good time to get your legislation recommendations in to one or more of the members of the committee : http://rules.senate.gov/members/

If you are a constituent of one of the senators, I would start there. I would also try to keep the list of recommendations short, and as simple as possible.

Personally, I do not think anything will pass this year, but view this as an opportunity to educate the committee and to promote discussion of good ideas.

Duopoly Devils

The only electronic voting reform Act we need is one which completely bans the technology.

Public elections in any democracy requires the vote to be publicly - not secretly - counted.  But software that tabulates elections is not humanly readable - this is a secret vote count.  Stalin would love computerized voting for the same reason he said:

It's not who votes that counts; it's who counts the vote.

Worse, this technology is undetectably mutable - no one, absolutely no one, can guarantee that the software was not modified at any time with malicious coding.

Give up on our Unconstitutional Congress - until they give us observable elections, with proven chain of custody of the ballots.

Better yet, it's time citizens started running their own elections.
