Audacious Behavior

I read two articles in the Ventura County Star newspaper this week that made my blood boil and stomach churn. It dealt with the treatment of Muslim children both here in the United States and abroad.

Thank you, Ventura County Star, for having the fortitude to bring to the forefront the horrors children suffer in the name of religion. I suspect that there will be no outrage. Because of my own misson to stop child cruelty, I have learned that most citizens have fallen into what I call the ‘comfort zone’ and expect others to handle it. Are we really that cowardly that we knowingly allow evil to exist and go unpunished without publicly voicing our outrage or taking action? Political correctness has crossed the boundaries at an all time high.

The Star wrote about Muslim parents willingly subjecting their children to horrendous torture while their children are forced to beg for money for the “teachers” who instruct their children in the teachings of the Quran. The money did not go to clothe their child, nor did it go for food to feed their child…instead, it went to the selfish criminals who operate in the name of religion.

Here in the United States, a 1 year-old was beaten to death because he would not say ‘amen’ after prayers. I say that this behavior is criminal in nature. I say they are evil by torturing children into submission – not teaching. The public decries the fact that we water-board a terrorist, but where are they when they learn of children having the flesh ripped off their backs as punishment for not bringing enough money back after begging to the teacher as was the helpless 7 year-old child the Star wrote about.

One father, admitted that he knew his son would be beaten, but still sent his young 7
year-old to learn the Quran, however, he was not prepared for his son’s injuries which revealed the flesh on this helpless child’s back, shredded by the whip. Medical experts also admitted that they do not want to treat these children for fear of retaliation. How scary it is that? But most importantly, how horrific it is for that small child that no one will protect?

The father finally stepped up and filed a report. Hero? Villagers didn’t think so! He has been ostracized and I am confidant that he has not yet seen the last of the repercussions because of his stand against his son’s human rights violations. I wonder how many people in Ventura County will write and demand this type of terrorism be stopped?

I have not seen one letter from a person identifying himself as a Muslim stepping forward and denouncing the radical Muslim’s violations of human rights. I suspect I will be the only person who will.

Regardless of the purpose, beating children is an evil, cowardly, criminal act in the purest form and should never be tolerated. Those who beat defenseless children are criminals and should be treated as the bullying criminals they are whether they live abroad or here in the United States.

Ventura County alone has over 12,000 cases of child cruelty each year. What about the ones not reported? Let’s get real folks! Let’s protect our young and defenseless children by speaking out and having zero tolerance for those who hurt children and speaking out against religions and cults who do.
